Bermuda Beaches

Recommended Posts

We too went to Horseshoe bay. What a gorgeous beach. We took a cab form the west end and it was about 35 dollars one way. There were 4 of us in the cab so it was worth it. There are a ton of cabs waiting when you leave the beach too. The beach has a small stand where you can rent umbrellas, chairs, buy food and drinks. You need to walk further down the beach and you will find small private coves which are lovely. You will not be disappointed.

Another for Horseshoe Bay. Unfortunately, we used public transportation, which was not great since we were there during Hurricane Bertha and our days in port were pared down to one. Normally they say the ships population has two days to disperse between Hamilton, St Georges, and the beaches. When you are only in port 7 hours, everyone wanted to head to the beaches and public transportation was pretty overwhelmed. There were tons of cabs but the number of people wanting to use them was much greater. Even so, I wouldn't have missed my time spent on Bermuda. An absolutely gorgeous island.

Horseshoe Bay is great! Take a cab. We wasted our money on a 3 day bus pass. We waited for over an hour for the bus to get back to the ship. In the meantime we could have done something else. The time is more valuable than the money we saved.

Horseshoe Bay is Beautiful and does have facilities, but if you want a true Bermuda experience, consider one of these beaches...Elbow Beach, John Smith’s Bay, Astwood Cove, Shelly Bay Beach, Somerset Long Bay and West Whale Bay. Church Bay and Tobacco Bay Beach are known for their particularly good snorkeling.

My absolute favorite beach is at the Tucker's Point Club in the Castle Harbour area. Just visit http://www.tuckerspoint.com!
