rickcherryb Posted August 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2008 Does anyone know if the tips for the waiter, room steward, etc will automatically be charged to our credit card at the end of the cruise, or do we leave money in envelopes for them on the last night? Thanks
gargoyle999 Posted August 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2008 The tips will be added to your onboard account. I'm going to purchase OBC to cover it when I make final payment for our Nov cruise. Princess doesn't do prepaid gratuities I've been told by my TA.
tvaud Posted August 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2008 Does anyone know if the tips for the waiter, room steward, etc will automatically be charged to our credit card at the end of the cruise, or do we leave money in envelopes for them on the last night? Thanks The tips will be automatically charged to your on board account at the end of each day. You can choose to leave them as is and let them be charged to your credit card on record, or you could pay your account in cash at the end of the cruise at the passenger services desk. You also have the option of removing the tip and paying the individuals in person via the white envelope at the end of the cruise. Warning though, if you do remove the auto tip, any money that you give your servers will have to be turned in to the tip pool to be evenly distributed among all the workers who qualify for a tip. If you leave the auto tip in place on your on board account, you can tip extra to those who you wish to via the white envelopes. In this instance, your server will be able to keep his additional tip. I hope this isn't too confusing.
