DVC4US Posted August 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2008 I am not new to cruising(been on 8 DCL cruises), but I am new to RCCL so I have a few questions. I have done some research so I know about the big differences: no rotational dinning, disembarkation, and a casino on RCCL. We are in an Owner's Suite and our friends are in a Large Ocean View. On DCL if you are in a suite you are called a concierge guest so I will just use that term. 1. Do concierge guests have a seperate check-in line? 2. Do concierge guests get to board before everyone else(if you are there when they start boarding)? And if so, will they let our friends board with us so we can take our picture together? 3. Do you have a meeting with your concierge team when you board the ship? 4. Can you book your spa treatments online, or do you have to wait until you get on board. 5. Am I understanding correctly that you are issued one pool towel and you have to make sure you return that one? Is there a place to get more towels if you need them. 6. Are there any special things I should know about as a concierge guest? 7. Lastly, if you have done a DCL and a RCCL cruise, are there any other differences between the two you think I should know about? Thanks so much for any answers you can give me. Rare silentbob007 Posted August 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2008 1. Do concierge guests have a seperate check-in line? Yes ... there's a priority line for suites and certain returning guests. 2. Do concierge guests get to board before everyone else(if you are there when they start boarding)? And if so, will they let our friends board with us so we can take our picture together? Yes, priority guests also get priority embarkation. As for your friends, it really depends upon the agents working that day. 3. Do you have a meeting with your concierge team when you board the ship? There is a concierge lounge (depending on the ship_ where you can meet the concierge. On some ships there are not concierges. 4. Can you book your spa treatments online, or do you have to wait until you get on board. I don't think you can book these early, but I'm not sure about suite privileges. 5. Am I understanding correctly that you are issued one pool towel and you have to make sure you return that one? Is there a place to get more towels if you need them. You will have one towel per person waiting in your room. You can swap used towels at the pool or get them from your steward. Some ships are very strict about one towel in, one towel out while others are not. 6. Are there any special things I should know about as a concierge guest? The concierge lounge (if there is one on board) is a special perk for suite guests with finger food and drinks in the evening.

LeiLani Welcome to Cruise Critic LeiLani!! By the way.......that is a beautiful name. My oldest daughter is named Kehaulani. On RCCL you are considered a "Suite Guest". Anyone that has the Royal Suite, Owners Suites or Grand Suites are considered a suite guest. As Jim and Patti have pointed out.........there are certain ammenities that you will receive in an OS. Question??? .............which ship are you sailing aboard??? That could make a difference if there is even a concierge lounge aboard. cb at sea Posted August 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2008 If you want more than 1 pool towel per person (we do!) get them on the pool deck. Sometimes, you'll have to sign them in and out, but that's no big deal. You can have as many as you'd like.

Merion_Mom Posted August 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 18, 2008 What is this? Access to the Concierge is by special key card. Does this just mean they will book them for you if you haven't already done so?The concierge can sometimes get you into a shore excursion which otherwise is "fully booked". Pumbaamd Posted August 18, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 18, 2008 Also, the CL is not just open in the evening for drinks and finger foods. It is open in the morning for coffees, teas, juices, and a light, but very nice serve yourself breakfast. . . . meats and cheeses, muffins, rolls, bagels, etc. Coffee, snacks and the computers are available 24/7. The computers are at the regular rate, but you have a bit of privacy. Rick and Deirdra

DVC4US Posted August 18, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted August 18, 2008 Thanks everyone for all the answers. It's always great to know what I am getting into. I guess I should have put this in my originial post but we are on Enchantment of the Seas for a 4 day over Labor Day weekend. I know this is one of the older ships so we may not have some of the amenities which is okay. Thanks again for all of the responses. LeiLani Enchantment is one of the ships that does have computer terminals in the CL. It also has one of the nicest Concierge Lounges with huge windows looking out on the beautiful ocean vistas.
