LSAUNDER Posted September 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2008 Could someone please tell me about the diamond discount???????????? I have cruised like 8 times on this line and have never received a discount. I am a member of crown & anchor. No one has ever mentioned it to me. cruisinisforme Posted September 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2008 After you cruise 5 times with RCCL you are considered platinum and receive $100 per cabin discount when booking a balcony cabin. After 10 cruise credits you are considered diamond and get a $200 per cabin discount when booking balcony cabins
dougp26364 Posted September 3, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2008 Just an adendum to the previous post. Cruise credits and number of sailings are not necessarily the same. Any sailing in a cat. JS or higher cabin generates an extra cruise credit for that sailing (2 credits rather than just the 1 for the sailing) and cruises 12 nights or longer generate an extra cruise credit no matter what cabin type you sailed in. In our case, we have 7 cruises but 11 cruise credits, which puts us into Diamond membership with C&A. We have 7 cruise credits for our cruises plus extra cruise credits for sailing in a JS cabin 3 times and one extra cruise credit for a 12 night Med. cruise. As mentioned, the Platinum discount is $100 and the Diamond discount is $200. For diamond members, on ships with a conceirge lounge you have access to that lounge. To me it's a really nice benefit as the conceirge can get tickets and shore excursions for you plus there is the happy hour each night with complementary cocktails. I really enjoyed the service of the conceirge lounge the one and only time we've had access to it and look forward to it on our future cruises. Cruising89143 Posted September 3, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2008 The amount of the discount not only varies by your C&A status but also by the number of nights for the cruise that you book.
