Suites, Penthouses on up to Garden Villa have a separate check in line - better known as priority check in. No long lines for you. ;)

For VIP check in, make sure you get to the pier fairly early. The first time we were in an AB, we arrived at the New York pier about 12:30 and they had already called the VIP's. So, we missed it :(

Were on the Dawn in Garden Villa in June. Got to the pier 1:30. Found someone from NCL and brought us right to the front of the line. No Waiting at all.

We stayed in an AB on the Star. Fantastic room! We had VIP check in and were met in the suite by the butler. Have a wonderful time.

Mini suites and Balcony cabins have their own separate check in line as well as do Lattitudes

members though often the Lattitudes line is as long or longer then the regular line. Thing is ,depending on when you arrive, there may be a line getting into the building that you have to get in before you get inside and can go to your proper line.

Unless of course you want to just muscle in, in front of everyone waiting to get into the building saying ," Out of my way I am a VIP" but personally I doubt it is a good idea. LOL

I don't know which terminal they're talking about, and can only relate our experience in Seattle, but at that location they separate the VIPs when you first enter the building before the scan. Someone with a clipboard meets you, checks your name off their list and whisks you around to the front of the scanning line (magnatometer for you & x-ray for the bags) and then right up to the VIP room where the concierge and other folks get your information for your card while you enjoy refreshments. Then, straight on the ship to your room and up to Cagney's for lunch.

You're absolutely correct. We didn't even have to stop for the obligatory first picture by the ship's photographers as we were being escorted by our butler. :)

IMO, that's really weird (not you, the way they do the VIP boarding at New York). They really expect everyone who has VIP boarding privileges to embark at the same time? Bizarre. Our experience was similar to odblnt's below. The only real difference was that we were directed to the Star Bar (aka Concierge Lounge) for complimentary cocktails after meeting with our butler and before Cagney's for lunch. That might have been because we boarded much earlier than we usually do. I think Cagney's may not have been open that early. We didn't care. It was so very nice to sit in the comfy lounge sipping yummy cocktails (before noon!) and just starting the cruise so relaxed and unstressed.

They did have us go by the photographers, but my DH and I simply said (as we always do), "No, thank you" to them and continue on.
