9-5 stop enough time to do St. John?

We will be in St Thomas on Dec 24 from 9-5 and docking in Crown Bay.

Can any of you familiar with St Thomas tell me if a day sail to St John is do-able? At what time would we likely get to Red Hook given the time needed to get off the ship, clear customs etc?

We would really like to see St John but not if it means rushing there and rushing back without time to enjoy it. I think there will be 4 or 5 ships in St Thomas that day.

Thank you for any thoughts.

After getting off the ship... Crown Bay to Red hook is about a 30-35 minute drive in low/medium traffic. With traffic it will take longer. With 4 or 5 ships in port there will be traffic.

Contact some daysails and see how much timing out sailing/snorkeling they think you could get based on your schedule and then you can decide if you want to go that route.
