This could be the price of your free ticket drops in 1/2, which would be a good thing. Last time I priced out an aeroplan reward it was hundreds of dollars in taxes and surcharges. This will be interesting especially since Air Canada's annoucement did not include overseas flights. We are booked for next summer to Barcelona on points and the fees included the fuel surcharge so it is costing us $360. each. Not a huge deal since we are going to enjoy the benefit of those sleeper seats but still over $200. more than we paid the previous year to fly on points to Rome.
