Check out the ports of call threads for miami, I am pretty sure there are a bunch of recommendations. Can't think of anything off the top of my head except the usual airport hotels. I have stayed at the Hilton Airport and it is quite nice...great pool area with pool bar!

We stayed at the Marriott & it was clean & decent. I think we paid $99 a night, plus tax & booked the room on Expedia. It included free breakfast buffet. Other than the decor being a bit dated, we had no complaints. I'd recommend to anyone.

Look for a hotel instead of a motel, they are much nicer and safer.
