Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale walking distance to supermarket/liquor store?

Can anyone recommend a hotel in Ft.Lauderdale that is perhaps in walking distance to a supermarket/liquor store and perhaps the water?

 

I have never been to Florida and know nothing about Ft Lauderdale

Nothing like the first cruise. You need to make reservations now so you have them when you get there. Embassy Suites is within walking distance of food, liquor and supermarket. No beach but the water taxie is really close by or the little bus. Have fun.

Hyatt Place is also next to a grocery store, Publix, and a very large liquor store. There is a plaza with stores and restaurants. We stayed there this past May and loved it.

Was it the Hyatt Place Plantation or Airport that you stayed at?

Airport location. I believe it was on 17th Street.

HP airport...it's actually on 10th st which is off 17th....

 

the HI Express, extended stay america and renaissance are also walkable...the Ft Laud Grande and Hyatt pier 66 are OK as well, but hop the sun trolley.....i's a little too far to walk...esp if it is really hot!

If you stay in Lauderdale by the Sea, you can be beachfront AND walk to Publix, restaurants, and 2 liquor stores. But there are only motel-like places. It is at the north end of Fort Lauderdale.
