CGBCruiser Posted October 21, 2008 #51 Share Posted October 21, 2008 Here's a link to a lot of Hurricane Ike pictures. We live close to Surfside Beach so we've seen that damage firsthand. It's hard to realize the scope of all the damage on the Gulf Coast until you see it. :( http://www.tpicks.com/pictures%20people%20have%20sent%20me.html

clearlakecruisers Posted October 26, 2008 #54 Share Posted October 26, 2008 Thanks, Galveston Cruiser, for the reports on Mosquito Cafe and Pics on 45th. Guess I'll have to keep checking on them. Had hoped that they would be back in business by Thanksgiving when we're scheduled to spend a week at a Galveston beach house but that may not be happening, darn it. robtx100 Posted October 29, 2008 #58 Share Posted October 29, 2008 Here's an update on the Tremont House. I had a reservation there for Feb. 28th, 2009. I received a call stating that the hotel would not be open by then and they transferred my reservation to the Galvez. So no Tremont until March at the earliest. michelle2 Posted November 6, 2008 #65 Share Posted November 6, 2008 I just got off the phone with Hertz. They are saying that the Galveston location will be closed until the first of the year. I need to rent a car on Nov 23. We were hoping to go to the space center before our late flight. Any suggestions for me?
