Tony UK Posted November 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2008 I understand about corkage costs, however I am still considering taking my own wine on board. Has anyone done this? Has anyone had their wine shipped to the port to go on board - if so, how did you arrange it? I have a very good wine merchant here and wondered if this would be a good option? Longboysfan Posted November 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2008 There is an agent for each port you can ship things to. I used to do it and they put it on the boat for me - but post 9/11 no more. You have to get it at the port agent. Better to get at home and bubble wrap and ship it with yourself on plane. It has to go in checked luggage.

DaveFr Posted November 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2008 Tony, You can purchase styrofoam wine shippers for your wine and take the wine as checked baggage on the plane. I've used these many times without any problems. I've also had wine shipped by air from Australia and New Zealand in these shippers and the wine arrived in the US in perfect condition. You can see what they look like at: http://www.boxvendor.com/wineshippers-styrofoamandcorrugatedboxcombo.aspx. I'm sure you can purchase such shippers in the UK or possibly get one from your wine merchant. Dave
winediva Posted November 8, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Keep in mind, Celebrity's current policy is that cruisers are allowed to bring on board a maximum of 2 bottles of wine per stateroom. Those bottles are also subject to a $25 corkage fee.
