A Day in Cabo- Some Ideas for What to Do

We can't go on our cruise due to my DH having double vision and doctor seeing instability in his eye... I am crushed. I spent many nights gathering information about the ports we were going to so I am going to share it here, at least planning the cruise was fun...

I tried to pick some fun options for our family (me, DH, DD (3 year old toddler), Mom, Dad, Aunt and Uncle) with varying interests. Enjoy and have a wonderful cruise!!

Los Arcos and Lover’s Beach At the extreme southern tip of the Baja Peninsula is a clump of giant boulders called Land’s End, flanked by a pristine beach called the Playa de Amor. Right offshore are a couple of good scuba and snorkeling spots, and at low tide you can walk out to the famous El Arco, the natural arch featured in so many Baja photos. *Suggest - 45min glass bottomed boat rid for $12pp – taken to Pelican Cove, where the seals are and Lovers Beach. We did this for much less when we were there last year and we all loved this beach- it was a perfect day in paradise!!

Melia resort hotel at Medano Beach- If a day at the beach, sunning, swimming, parasailing, kayaking, or jet skiing is tops on your list, then waste no time grabbing a water taxi from the marina to take you the short distance to Médano Beach (the best and safest beach in Cabo). Directly across the bay from Los Arcos, we had amazing views of these rocky outcroppings. We swam in the perfect water surrounded by schools of colorful fish, then enjoyed yet another savory meal at the hotel’s patio café. This area is a $6 cab ride from downtown, or a 6 peso (60 cent) bus. I found that the water taxis were the best way to go. They can get you anywhere in town in a few minutes for about $3 US per person.

Snorkel and Sail- http://www.cabosail.com/home.php Captain Pete took us out towards Lovers Beach to snorkel. We were very much surprised at the clarity of the water and the amount of tropical fish to be seen. We had been told that the snorkeling was lousy on the west coast of Mexico but such is not the case as far as Cabo goes. After snorkeling he hoisted sail and out to sea we went. Jaime, the deck hand served us chips, salsa, sandwiches, any drink we wanted and desert. It was the most idyllic day I think I've ever spent. All this for $57 per person.

Snorkel & Sail to Santa Maria Cove: http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/LaPrincesa-Catamaran.htm $44- 12 -3.

Horse and Carriage Ride- I saw a lot of couples and children getting carriage rides. *You'll have opportunities along the main road along the beachfront area to flag them down.

Arts and Crafts Market- You will find tons of shopping here and also in the Marina Mercado around the corner. If you are into Dia de los Muertos items, then check out the shop directly across the street (Hildalgo) from Pancho's restaurant here in Cabo. It is half a block off the marina boulevard across from the Tesero...an easy walk from the pier! Tons of Katrinas, cajitas, figuras, papel picados, and more!
