rwegoneyet Posted December 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2008 We booked Carnival air for our 4/09 cruise. Now the fares are much lower and want to cancel and book on our own. Our TA says we have to pay the $100 per person deviation fee. We are outside our final payment date. Is this true or did she not bother to call and ask if we could cancel? wrp96 Posted December 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2008 Did you do an air deviation when you booked?

You should be able to cancel the air and convert the package to "Cruise Only" w/out any CRUISELINE PENALTIES, unless you did an air deviation request which is NON REFUNDABLE. Then it is always possible that YOUR TA is charging the $100.00 fee for the cancellation. Hard to say based on your posted question.
paul929207 Posted December 22, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2008 My guess is that from Carnival's point of view, they have done the work for the deviation, so you will still have to pay for it.
rwegoneyet Posted December 23, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted December 23, 2008 thanks for all the help, we did request deviation to fly in day early when we booked so I guess we will live and learn. Will know better next time.

Oh well..... lesson learned.
iancal Posted December 24, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2008 Sounds like either your TA is very inexperienced or she did you a dis service.
