cruisin'sz Posted January 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2009 We will be returning from our excursion in the early afternoon (1:00) and will still have 4 hours in Antigua - any recommendations on what to do near the cruise dock in those 4 hours? Karysa Posted January 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2009 You could take a cab to a nearby beach such as Fort James, Runaway or Dickenson. You could visit the Cathedral or museum or markets which are all within walking distance of the dock. You could eat lunch at one of the local restaurants. Shopping or browsing is another option which is near the pier. Enjoy your day in Antigua! Karysa
newistcruiseaddict Posted February 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2009 I have the same issue..returning from our excursion at the same time...lots of time to spare. Thinking of going back to the ship for a light lunch and a break and returning for some shopping. I saw there is a museum within walking distance. Anyone have an experience? Worth the visit? Admission fee? Its also not far from the St John Cathedral...good place to stop for pictures. How is the shopping in Antigua? Any must stop at places? Are the two shopping areas like a flea market or are they individual stores in one building? TIA for advice/tips!
