matt0148 Posted September 7, 2017 #2777 Share Posted September 7, 2017 SHIP: Equinox CABIN #: 9147 DECK #: 9 CLASS: Veranda AREA: Forward Port Side BED NEAR: Bathroom QUIET?: See comments BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed BALCONY SIZE: Normal WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This room is right outside the elevator area so if people are around the elevators noise can be an issue and also bright lights in case you are trying to sneak out early in the morning. Also, it did not seem like the balcony door was sealing fully so noise from outside was present even if the balcony door was closed and locked. Finally, this is a connecting room where the door opens inwards which can be an issue if the bathroom door is not fully closed.

suekay Posted October 6, 2017 #2785 Share Posted October 6, 2017 Ship: Silhouette Cabin: #6292 Deck : 6 Class: Balcony 2c Area: Aft Bed near : Balcony Quiet?: Yes. Very few passengers passing by. I was aware of a very faint engine rumble when underway Balcony view: Outward view unrestricted. View down obstructed by roof of restaurant one deck below, but as it was painted the same colour as the sea we were hardly aware of any restriction. I suppose that crew could walk along this roof when in port but we never saw anybody Balcony size: Extra large. Two thirds covered+private, and the third nearest the rail open to the sky and the view of those in cabins above. We were able to sunbathe all day during two days sailing East. Wind a problem?: Not at all Soot a problem?: No Problems/comments: A bit of a walk from the elevators+stairs but not enough to stop us booking this cabin again for our next cruise on Silhouette especially as we get a one category upgrade as Captain's Club members (so pay only the 2d price)

Lastdance Posted October 15, 2017 #2788 Share Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) Deck - 12 - Reflection Cabin# - 2208 – S1 Corner aft suite Starboard or Port Side -Starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) Center Medium Quiet Cabin No: not early in the morning or in the evening around 9:00 Balcony View - Gorgeous view of the wake. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Great size with an oversized table and loungers Was wind a problem? No and the balcony is mostly covered, but you still can get some sun If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No Any specific problems with this cabin? None at all except for the noise issues above as I mentioned Any other comments? I absolutely loved the cabin, but will book another deck due to the early morning scrapings from the crew moving the tables and chairs above (back of the OVC). I knew this information when I booked, but it was the only Is corner aft available for my TA. Edited October 15, 2017 by Lastdance
Shubopdiddy Posted October 22, 2017 #2789 Share Posted October 22, 2017 SHIP: Celebrity Equinox CABIN #: 9376 DECK #: 9 CLASS: C1 AREA: Aft BED NEAR: Balcony QUIET?: Extremely BALCONY VIEW: Aft BALCONY SIZE: Regular WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: Yes PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Hereis my review of the C1 Aft cabin 9376: Positive- beautiful view of the wake, limited traffic, wonderful place forroom service Negative- balcony exposure to the weather (rain) and the perpetual soot, longdistance from the elevator Somedays the balcony was rendered useless because of the lack ofcoverage. Other days the ability to see the stars at night wasspectacular. Theroom has an additional door separating this cabin and the adjacentsuite from the main hall. There is a support pole next to the cabindoor. Myopinion: although the aft cabin has its benefits, the downsideoutweighs the pluses. The final decision comes down to whether youare willing to take your chances.
mimbecky Posted October 24, 2017 #2790 Share Posted October 24, 2017 Silhouette cabin 7175. We had a few rocky nights and something was annoyingly creeping/bumping-even the last evening after all was packed and gone. Never figured out what it was. Maybe pull down bed which we didn't use?? Pushkin Posted October 27, 2017 #2792 Share Posted October 27, 2017 Equinox 3122 DECK #: 3 CLASS: Oceanview AREA: midship starboard BED NEAR: the closet QUIET?: No BALCONY VIEW: NA (although large rectangular window was nice) BALCONY SIZE: NA WIND A PROBLEM?: NA SOOT A PROBLEM?: NA PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: PROs: convenient location, room size and storage were adequate, room steward was excellent. CONs: Room was pretty noisy. There was the usual door slamming and loud people in the halls, but the various loud swooshing noises (not cabin toilets), banging (literally, banging) and other unidentifiable noises during random hours of the day and night made this a cabin (and area) that I would not book again. Blighty770 Posted October 30, 2017 #2796 Share Posted October 30, 2017 SHIP: Eclipse CABIN #: 8281 DECK #:8 CLASS: A1 AREA: Midship - near elevators BED NEAR: Balcony QUIET?: Very, considering how close the cabin is to the elevators and stairs. BALCONY VIEW: Portside, aft, and fore (if you leaned a little bit) BALCONY SIZE: Oversized and really comfy. WIND A PROBLEM?:No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We only heard our immediate neighbours when they slammed their door, but otherwise it was really quiet. The balcony was spacious enough to catch the sun and be sheltered from the wind when we were at sail, and it was lovely to see the wake. The only caveat is that we could sometimes smell cigarette smoke from the smoking area which was three decks (almost directly) below us.
