SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 1553

DECK #: 11

CLASS: A-1 (Aqua)

AREA: forward/port

BED NEAR: balcony

QUIET?: yes

BALCONY VIEW: good (see below)

BALCONY SIZE: typical

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

Very quiet cabin with cabins on both sides and above/below you so noise not an issue unless you have partiers nearby. No hallway, plumbing or elevator noise heard. There is a support beam on the left side of the balcony (looking out) which partially obstructs your view, but not significantly. It does, however, prevent you from fully opening the partition to access the balcony of adjoining 1555 if you wanted to (altho 1551 is fully accessible).

Close to forward elevators. Generally, a very good cabin that I would book again.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1633

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua Class

AREA: Portside

BED NEAR: bathroom

QUIET?: Yes...very.

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed

BALCONY SIZE: normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This cabin was great. Really, no noise. Loved the size of the bathroom. We traveled with family in 1631 so asked that the balcony be opened between the cabins. It had a support beam between so didn't open up completely. Close to elevators, close to pool and Oceanview Cafe, although we ate the majority of our meals in Blu. Fabulous cruise.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 7108

DECK #: 7

CLASS: Family Veranda

AREA: Very front of ship with two forward facing windows

BED NEAR: Separate room with forward facing window

QUIET?: Very noisy when docking and you can hear and feel the banging of the bow on certain waves when traveling above about 16 knots

BALCONY VIEW: Starboard

BALCONY SIZE: Smallish with some obstruction

WIND A PROBLEM?: You can hear it at times but that is the same on any ship. Depends on the wind's direction.

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Nope

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This cabin cannot be beat if you have a family. Especially if your 2 year old won't sleep if he can still see you. Little brat. :-) This provides the kids with a private place to sleep (or the parents a private place to nap) while allowing the rest of the family to relax, watch TV, read, go on the balcony etc., without disturbing each other. The 575 sq. ft. is great!! On the Silhouette, they had a nice 4-seat table so if you ordered room service for breakfast or dinner, you could all comfortably sit and eat. If there are more than two of you and you can afford this, the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

May apply to all ships of this class - stayed in cabin 2151 (premium suite in the stern just below the Oceanview bar/cafe) on deck 12. Every morning at 0630 the noise of dragging chairs started. Noise penetrated the cabin loudly. Went on all day until about 2100. Really annoying - could never sleep in. Just a constant, "scaping" on the ceiling. Spoke to Hotel Manager outside main theater on second night. She told us, "We just replaced the chair footings" but offered no other solution to the noise. Problem is the chair footings are made of a rubberized materiel - should be teflon type sliders (a hint to Celebrity to fix the problem).

What really buggs me is I repeatedly called the Hotel Manager, left messages, even sent the butler to convey message to speak with her - nothing from Hotel Manager - nothing.

Celebrity needs to warn passengers about the noise problem in this cabin and not charge highest price for the suite like they do presently for all corner stern suites. Most importantly - fix the chairs footings!

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1674

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Great aft view

BALCONY SIZE: Good

WIND A PROBLEM?:No

SOOT A PROBLEM?:No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:We chose this cabin for the location with the aft view, quiet cabin, walk to elevators not a problem for us. The small overhang from the deck above was good, perhaps at times needed more shade, but this was in the middle of summer in NZ and Aus. Privacy not an issue for us as you really needed to be against railing to be seen from above.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 2102

DECK #: 12

CLASS: C2 - Concierge

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes and No

BALCONY VIEW: Great view - on the hump so can see from bow to aft

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?:No

SOOT A PROBLEM?:No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Excellent location on the Resort Deck, right outside the elevators. Some noise issues at very early hours when staff were washing loungers and deck on Deck 14. Also a weird inconsistent noise that was finally ascertained to be the sliding doors on deck above. A maintenance issue that I'm sure would have been fixed had we talked to G.S. early on.

Deck - 10

Cabin # - 1243

Class – C2

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Not Connecting. No noise from elevator or atrium. HOWEVER, and this is a big one, very frequent slamming of a door was jolting, to say the least. Cabin is in the alcove with the stewards's closet (and cabin 1245) that has a heavy, self closing door (like the cabins) , and they were in and out all day, most noticeable between 3 PM and 8 PM, and early mornings. If you enjoy sleeping in, or an afternoon nap, this cabin is not for you. Full disclosure, I did not mention it to them, perhaps if I did, they might have been more careful and held on to the door each time it closed.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – First cabin facing aft after the hump, so in order to see forward, you need to crane your neck. I did not do it often as I would also be looking onto the balcony of one of the suites (which has a Jacuzzi on the balcony, BTW). Unobstructed straight out and aft.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - HUGE. Loved it. 2 chairs with foot rests, and a table. Lots of shade.

Was wind a problem? Wind rattled the plastic balcony divider between this cabin and the suite - actually kind of a roar, but only when we were moving at top speed, and heading south across the Atlantic to the Caribbean - 2 days. Then it stopped as we slowed for the rest of the trip.

Any specific problems with this cabin? Other than the door banging, it was wonderful. Central location, steps from the elevator and library

Any other comments? Book it, for sure, unless you enjoy an afternoon nap, or feel like scolding the steward.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 6237

DECK #: 6

CLASS: 1A

AREA: Mid-ship, port

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Yes, but there was a LOT of ship creaking noise!

BALCONY VIEW: Nice view out, but the life boats are one floor down

BALCONY SIZE: slightly larger due to diagonal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No, diagonal protects you from the wind

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

Nice location. Near the elevators without the elevator noise. Wind was an issue on the hump balconies, but not on ours due to the extra space and diagonal shape. We thought the location was great as one floor down is coffee and gelato, it is close to bars, relaxation areas, the dining room.

Although the smoking section was immediately below us, we never had problems as the smoking area is contained in glass and little smoke escaped.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 2119

DECK #: Resort (Deck 12 (really 13, but they don't label it that way)

CLASS: S2

AREA: Port

BED NEAR:Bath

QUIET?: Yes. Once or twice heard chair from upstairs cafe. Never disturbed our sleep and I am a VERY light sleeper.

BALCONY VIEW: Good. Covered. Thought it would bug us at the start, then never noticed it again

BALCONY SIZE: ? Our 1st and only cruise, so hard to judge. Think it is a bit bigger than the norm. Was plenty of room for us.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No soot. Our first night we noticed a bit of exhaust smell, but think that was due to high winds (and seas) that night. Never noticed it again during the next 12 days.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Location very good and quiet!! Oceanview Cafe right upstairs making it easy to grab coffee or snacks. On same deck as pool and gym. Tons of storage. Would rebook and recommend.
