Ship - Silhouette

Cabin # - 1614

Deck # - 11

Class - Royal Suite

Area - Starboard, middle of the hump

Bed near- N/A separate bedroom

Quiet: Yes, on occasion around 6AM could hear scraping from chairs being moved above, but only heard because we were up early that day, not enough to wake even a light sleeper(which I am)

Balcony View- Outstanding - great views in every direction

Balcony SIze-  Huge, double balcony

Wind a problem? - It was a cool windy TA sailing so yes, it could be.  Balconies on back side of the hump ideal for a TA in our opinion

Soot a problem? - No

Problem/Comments -  Wonderful suite, close to elevators, would love to have it again sometime!

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 7108

DECK #: 7

CLASS: FV (Family Verandah)

AREA: Very front of ship

BED NEAR: separate bedroom, near the front window

QUIET?: Most of the time.  VERY noisy at docking and when anchor goes up/down (normally in the very early morning).  Was also VERY noisy when preparing for and helicopter came in for medivac right infront of the room

BALCONY VIEW: balcony is partially obstructed by overhang and looks to the side of the ship (there are also 2 large windows that over look the front of the ship)

BALCONY SIZE: small

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The noise in the early morning was VERY loud.  This was the only issue and is tolerable, because the size of the room with 2 separate bedrooms makes up for it

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 7260

DECK #: 7

CLASS: Deluxe Veranda (1A)

AREA: Starboard side, front edge of the midship hump

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: YES! Super quiet

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed, clear view of the sea. Looking down, you can see some lifeboat equipment and the sea. The angled balcony on the hump means that you are looking towards the front of the ship and can easily see the bridge, and the view past the bridge towards the front. This also gives you a view of deck 5 with the lifeboats mounted alongside.

BALCONY SIZE: HUGE! Its Trapezium shaped, with the angle giving you extra room. Its big enough that we had 3 chairs, as well as a deck chair and a table, and yet had enough room for a toddler to run around.

WIND A PROBLEM?: Sometimes. The balcony is exposed to the wind coming from the bow, and a strong breeze can make things chilly. But not bad enough to keep you off the balcony.

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin is close to the elevators, yet we never heard any elevator noises, due to glass doors between the elevator lobby and the cabin area. The balcony is super large, compared to most cabins in this category, which was a welcome benefit! The bathroom does not have a clothesline, which was sort of a bummer. turns out no baths on this ship have clotheslines.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 6239

DECK #: 6

CLASS: Deluxe Veranda (1A)

AREA: Port side, back edge of the midship hump

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: YES! Super quiet

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent view of the sea and everything to the sides.Balcony is angled and also gives a nice view along the side of the ship to the stern. Lifeboats immediately below, on deck 5, so can't see the sea right below, but thats not a problem at all.

BALCONY SIZE: Okay, comfortable enough to accommodate a table and two chairs. Did not feel as if it was crowded, even when there were 4 people standing at the rail

WIND A PROBLEM?: Not at all. given the orientation of the balcony (angled inwards, looking to the stern), it is actually shielded from any wind blowing from the bow

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Had booked this as a guarantee cabin so was not able to actually "select" this cabin. But given a choice, we would have loved to be able to select this.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: Accessible 2196

DECK #: 12

CLASS:  Sky Suite

AREA:  Right side (starboard I think thats it)

BED NEAR: NA

QUIET?: NOT EVEN FOR ONE SECOND!

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed

BALCONY SIZE: HUGE, at least 3 regular size ones together, with a ramp

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: NO

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This suite was huge, which was great. However, it was directly below ocean view cafe. In a spot where there is a lip on the floor, in between an in and an out crew to kitchen doors. There was NON stop noise 24/7. We always bring a sound machine, but even that didnt help. I read one other review saying they heard slight noise, so I thought I'd be ok. But it was the worst we've ever dealt with. We barely slept a full night the entire 12 night cruise.

I'd never stay in this room again.

I'll attach pictures of what was directly above the cabin. And photos of the room.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS (Explain all Noise (including crew door issues), Wind and Soot Problems here, plus all comments and information regarding things like connecting or accessible cabins)

No problems.  Beautiful cabin.  Separate living room with pull-out large couch and love seat, four-seat dining table, kitchenette with sink, separate WC (i.e., 1.5 baths).  Gigantic TVs in both living room and bedroom.  Bathroom is so large as to be almost wasted space, but lovely,.  Double sinks.  Very high step up into the tub, but with separate shower.  Extreme dearth of electrical outlets, and no USB outlets.  Lighting is also fairly poor.  Tons and tons of storage space.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 1504

DECK #: 11

CLASS:  A2

AREA:  Starboard forward

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Cabin is below gym. We were woken up every day at 5:45 am to scraping noises. Presumably, equipmement is being moved to get ready for 6:00 a.m. opening. During the day, there are loud thuds as people drop the weight stacks. Bring earplugs if you stay in this area.

BALCONY VIEW: Mostly unobstructed. Bridge wing is visible on left. Does not interfere with view.

BALCONY SIZE: Standard. Has recliner chairs with footstools. Very nice

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: NO
