Upgrade Question????

:)Being new to Cruising I have a question about upgrades and would appreciate feedback.

I reserved a Mini-Suite CAT-AE GU on the Ruby for March, about 3 weeks later I received my cabin assignment.

 

The question is going from an CAT-AE GU to a CAT-AB, is this a good upgrade? I have sailed Princess one other time.

That is quite normal with booking an AE guarantee. There are so few AE's onboard that we have always been upped to an AA or AB when booking a guarantee AE.

This is considered an upgrade by some, but within the same category. The staterooms will be identical, only the location will be different.

 

A true upgrade would be from one actual category to the next (IMHO of coarse ;)). In other words, from a mini to a full suite would be a true upgrade.

 

But congrats on getting a better category than you actually paid for. :) :) Enjoy your mini!
