Questions about the star

I have a couple of silly questions to ask about the star. Do the cabins have fan ventilation on the ceilings/climate control? I am just curious, I know on the Elation there was a vent on the ceiling that we could turn on for coolness? Also are there places on the ship to get cash if needed like atm/or place to cash a check? If so do you remember the sur charges? Thanks

I'm sorry but I don't remember about the fans...there is a thermostat that you can adjust. We frequently bring our own little fan to run in the room.

 

The are ATMs in the casino and I think the fee was something in the $5-7 range.

Instead of using the ATM, simply go to the casino and get cash against your onboard account at no fee.

That is an option, but for us not worth the time it takes to save $5.00 that we pay at the ATM machine.

TerryMex, it took all of 3 minutes at most for me to get cash in the casino. ( on the Pearl ) What I like about that method is the amt is put on your onboard acct and then if you have OBC you can use that even for casino expenses. Also since we pay the acct with a credit card, that can accumulate some points for you ( credit card ). Now that NCL doesn't have the c c program that was as good, we may switch to another credit card. ( ex: US Airways card ) By the way, I always enjoy your posts. You are always so kind and also give some very good information. Thanks!

there is no vent, there is a great adjusting pad for setting your own coolness or heat. very easy to use.

getting money off your on-board account is, also, very easy. especially if you are only talking about a couple of hundred..compared to a thousand.

they just check your ID and charge it to your cabin. since the ATMs can run slow at time or have trouble getting a signal...the casino cashier is the place to go.

there wasn't a fan....a thermostat for cold/warm....trust me we could have used a fan for circulating air....oceanview room. :)
