cgc33a Posted April 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2004 question for RCCL veterans: What type of amenities come in the room/bathroom? Shampoo, lotion, shower cap, hairdryer etc? and are these products worth using or should I bring my own? Thank you. CC
Florida Beach Posted April 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Shampoo and hairdryer are availabled in all rooms. However, I prefer my own brand of Shampoo and Conditioner. We have 2 bathrobes and 4 pool towels (which became 8 by the end of the cruise) in our cabin. superjerryw Posted April 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Depends on the ship. On some ships the hairdryers are small hand held units that are OK. On other ships the hairdryers are the type attached to the wall that blow hot air out of a hose. Most ships have a dispenser in the bathroom for a combination of shampoo and conditioner. Donuts, is there anything they can't do....

TexasTwoSteps Posted April 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Voyager class ships should have hand held hari dryers in the vanity drawer. The bathrooms as stated earlier will have a dispenser of shampoo and conditioner.
Johanna7 Posted April 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2004 It looks like RCCL is the same as Celebrity when it comes to bathroom amenities. We had the dispensers of shampoo and body lotion. The shampoo wasn't much use and fortunately we had our room. So pleased we had our own body lotion and apres sun stuff as the product in the dispensers smelled rancid. Holland America has bottles of the stuff in the bathrooms. Much better product and FRESH. Not rancid. It probably costs more but SO MUCH nicer. Soap was actually a bar of soap. No grotty stuff from a dispenser.
Cruising Fool Posted April 25, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2004 You have to ask for a shower cap, and don't expect any lotion unless you're in a suite. birdyhunter Posted April 25, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Wow, I'm a little disappointed with this info. on the Carnival cruises we went on there was a basket of all kinds of goodies. Shampoo, conditioner, soaps, razors etc. It was nice to have and they refilled it for us. staylor Posted April 25, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Their bar soap is NASTY! It really dried out my skin. I would bring your own soap, also. <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=2> <param name="day" value=7> <param name="hour" value=22> </applet> Ecstasy 1996, Fantasy 1997,1998,1999, Imagination 2000, Sovereign 2001, Fantasy 2002, Monarch 2003, Serenade 2004
Cruising Fool Posted April 26, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 26, 2004 I know what you mean. Carnival is great when it comes to room size and amenities! (But, hate to say it I'm a loyal Royal Caribbean fan!) Actually, Royal Caribbean use to give out lotion, shampoo, hair conditioner, hand lotion, and shower caps without asking - but they stopped that awhile back. I guess it was a cost saving measure. But, they're still a great cruise line.
