80spit Posted February 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2009 We were just in Barbados Last week and decided to go to Folkestone beach for the day, we got lots of info here on how to get to the bus terminal, just a tip, when you take the bus, there seems to be 2 types, blue public buses and yellow smaller private buses, the Yellow bus drivers will try very hard to get you on their bus, but don't, go on the blue public buses, these were safer and nice, we took a yellow bus back and had a bus ride from Hell, Blaring profane music, had to stand and we were crammed in like cattle, then one of the 3 guys working the bus gets in a fight with someone along the street, after waiting 10 minutes one of the bus guys chases use off onto another bus, all the while I am freaking out here waiting for a mob scene!! next bus same deal blaring profane music, but we finally made it back, what a memory, unfortunately not a nice one Folkestone was fair water was rough and cloudy we walked down the beach to a nice outdoor restaurant ( Yellow building) and had a great lunch of the local flying fish. What an adventure, what ever you do, wait for the blue Bus!!!!! Cheers Gerry
Aplmac Posted February 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2009 You didn't like the local 'color' ? :) Didn't find it "exotic" ?? :D She's got a point, people. The blue, Government-run buses are for the sane civilized people the yellow ones are for the counter-culture. ;) The smaller minivans(white with a maroon strip, ZR license plates) are not too bad however despite being privately run! From time to time I catch one of them Sounds like the guys above got caught in the rush-hour commute?
