has anyone done this?

 

if so... which companies if any have a drop off near the pier?

 

we land at 1pm .... but Summit doesn't leave the dock until 11pm

 

5 of us hoping we can visit the mall for a few hours first

Not really- you would end up going back and forth to the airport/car agency and ending up paying for a cab anyway. Charlie's car rental free shuttle ends at about 5pm.

 

Your best bet maybe to get a taxi to the ship- check in, drop off your bags ($19 plus baggage fee). Then get another taxi to and from the mall (about $14 each way).

When you divide it among 5 people, it will be worth not having to wait at the rental place and the hassle of returning the car. Even with a rental you wouldn't save much and you would waste time.

Many rental car companies have started charging a drop off fee to rent at the airport and drop off in Condado. Enterprise told us it would be $40 so we didn't bother renting.
