will this new tax affect the price onboard?

need to ask someone who is cruising soon to check out the price on a carton.

I don't know if it will affect the purchase price, but onboard they are duty-free.. or tax-free. But there's a limit on how many cartons customs will allow you to take off the ship, but I don't know what that is.

Started smoking young and quit at 54.....cold turkey.

Got tired of the looks and inconvenience, but mostly quit for myself and my family.:) I don't smell like an ashtray, best gift.:o

Too bad your signature doesn't show up here. "I'll have a mocha latte, vodka, valium to go please" was the jist of it. I'll take smelling like an ashtray myself. Since I smoke, I can't smell it anyway!:p And, I just give "the looks" back.

I believe the limit is still 200 cigarettes and 100 cigars. I think they were 32.00 a carton on Gem in December. I didn't do it because they are still cheap in West Virginia ($34.00/carton including tax) and I visit there at least once a month.

"The brightest people don't need to light up."

Is that a proverb or a quote?

My older brother always had a good line. He said "if the good lord had wanted you to smoke, he would have made you a dragon". :)

But the dumbest people say absolutest stuff like that.

My wife, MsEscada, is a PhD, highly respected in her field, consulted by US Senators and other professionals, was quoted twice in the NY Times just this past week, and smokes.

When we Rumba, we smoke, but when we Tango, they need a fire extinguisher!
