kenish Posted March 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2009 Thank you for the link. My teen son and I are making our first trip to Australia in June/July for 18 days. We're visiting MEL, Cairns, Uluru, and SYD. All the flights and hotels are booked and now I'm filling in the details so the link is very handy. hampshirelad Posted March 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2009 We used the Free Tram hoping for some sightseeing. It does a circular tour around Melbourne. Because it is Free it is packed full and I mean full so it is very difficult to see anything.
Aussie Gal Posted April 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2009 We also have a free bus which runs from outside our National Gallery and Arts Centre in St. Kilda Road. I think it runs every 30 minutes though I cannot be sure but it does go to places that the tram misses. Australian family Posted April 8, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2009 An interesting place to go to is The Queen Victoria Markets: http://www.qvm.com.au/qvm/qvm_home.aspx Also visit Captain Cook's Cottage in the Fitzroy Gardens, this is really cute! http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/info.cfm?top=39&pg=610 This are both within the city area and accessible by tram. Myers & David Jones are 2 large dept stores worth looking at as well if you enjoy shopping!
