chapichapo Posted April 23, 2009 #26 Share Posted April 23, 2009 My husband suggested this one: Artesanato do Tejo, Arsenal Street 25, Lisbon. Tel: 351 210 312820. Open 10am to 6pm. It is integrated in the Lisbon Welcome Centre, Comercio Square (or Terreiro do Paço), Baixa. Tel: 351 210 312810. Open Daily in both Winter and Summer from 9am to 8pm. Also, in all the touristic spots such as castle hill, Sé, Alfama, Belém, there are shops who sell both ceramics and tiles. There's also the tile museum in Lisbon, which is the most important portuguese tile museum. I forgot the Sé cathedral in my "itinerary", there's also the Chiado museum... In Chiado there's also this shop http://www.avidaportuguesa.com/ which sells portuguese "products" (kind of urban/vintage/retro shop) selling handmade toys, those kind of things. chapichapo Posted April 23, 2009 #27 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Here's the elevator I was talking about (Elevador de Santa Justa): It goes up from the Baixa, in Rua do Ouro, to Chiado, next to the Carmo ruins and from there you can have another view of Lisbon downtown, just opposite the castle.
