doegirl Posted November 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2004 some things you may want to know to prepare for and Caper notes: Cruise Director is Brett Adams. He is the Senior CD for all of Carnival btw. Phone calls are $6.99 per minute. Internet is available. Bingo is expensive. $20.00 for a set of three paper cards. It is usually just one game. Spa is nice...no kids in jacuzzi. separate sauna/steam rooms. GREAT showers! Normal ship photos are $7.99 but they only print NICE fancy ones in 8x10 which cost you $19.99. No shorts in dining room for dinner ever (except maybe 1st night) We started each day with room service coffee...nice wake-up! Friday Lunch spread upon boarding. Life boat drill. Excursion desk is open from 12:30 to 3:30 and no one knows it! Pre-Book anything you afraid will sell out. Casual dinner dress and yes some did wear shorts as they didn't get all luggage delivered. Saturday. AT SEA- travel talk at 11:00 am. First formal night, Captain's Party. Lobster tail, prime rib etc. We had both. First good show with Cruise Director/dancers. adult comedy follows, it was okay but not my cup of tea, could have been funnier. Sunday AT SEA. Casual dinner dress. CD Brett does a magic show, etc. at showtime. Monday, St. Maarten. Taxi to shopping is $6.00 but we walked back. Shopped and return to take America's Cup excursion. ($88 pp) walked back after that and did some more shopping at the pier. Dinner dress is elegant casual. Showtime was a good tribute to Sammy Davis Jr/Frank Sinatra. followed by more adult comedy. Tuesday, Barbados. SHops downtown CLOSE at 4:00 at pier till sailing. Dinner again is casually elegant. Village Idiot show was okay (comedy jugglers). We preferred listening to The Music Zone Band. Wednesday, Martinique. We did an early tour and ended in shopping area. there were 3 tented areas besides normal stores that were strawmarket-like. Also some more shopping at pier. Dinner dress is Casual. There is a passenger talent show so if you have talent bring it. There were 7 guests and they weren't very good. Bring a music tract or something! It follows adult karoake in the main Lounge, Follies. But the best is the little song/skit thing perfromed by the Cruise Director's Team after the talent show! It was pretty funny. Thursday, at sea. Galley tours was long! Showtime, Take II, starts out slow but is really good for the most part!!!! SECONd Formal Night. Past guest party is prior. Friday, at sea. 10:30 win a cruise bingo and at 3:30 Decent bingo, it is 10 games. Backstage tour, see all the costumes, etc. Debarkation talk. SHowtime okay. We ended our cruise in Satchmo's again! Saturday we awoke in port of Ft. Lauderdale. I went to the customs area cause we bought 4 bottles instead of two. I was told it was okay. They are more worried about cigars and cigarettes. My sister didn't even go...just carried off her liquor. There is no scan when leaving. They let off blue and yellow luggage first. We sat in the casino to be near the exit, which is the same place you got on, the Atrium area. Gold was next and disembarking was a breeze. We were done by 10:05 am and on the road!! any more questions? if i think of more I'll post Part 3 Kelli sales@embroider-me.com

judyf Posted November 29, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Thanks for all the tips. Great info. Shows didn't sound too good. Was there an afternoon tea?
doegirl Posted November 29, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted November 29, 2004 actually the shows were good. I just didn't think the comedy was that great! the dancer shows are good. the passenger talent show was bad, cause the passengers were bad. Yours maybe great! Don't miss the crew after the talent show though. Their song is very funny, Yes, there is shopping at the piers as well as in the towns. The best pier shopping was St. Maarten, Martinique is second. Barbados has the smallest and the downtown shopping area is dirty and closes early. Martinique had the best "market" area in the town. St. Maarten has alot of jewerly deals..so did the ship! There are special deals each day on the ship. Afternoon Tea??? didn't notice one, can't find in capers either. But there is 24 hr tea on Lido deck, plenty of nice rooms and areas. I'm sure you could have one. The chapel, card room, library, etc. are all very nice! THere is something called Friends of Bill W alot at 4:30 but I have no idea what that is. i think Ill post part 3 about Lido deck
