Seattle question.....

Recommended Posts

We just booked Alaska on RCL out of Seattle for Aug 2010. We are looking or a recommendation for a hotel downtown which preferably has a airport shuttle. We would like a hotel in a place where we can just go out and wander around.

Also, how far is the pier from downtown? And the airport from downtown?

Thanks in advance!

Vicki

Hi...check the west coast homeports forum..

BUT none of the DT hotels have a/p shuttles...you can take grayline's airport shuttle....OR shuttle express (www.shuttleexpress.com)

it's about 20 minutes from the a/p to downtown....depends on traffic.

there is a seattle local on the west coast boards with lots of info....

lots of cruisers stay at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront...other choices are the Sheraton, Renaissance, Residence Inn or Courtyard Lake Union (both have a free shuttle to several spots downtown....)

seattle also has a good bus system...part of whch is free......

that's a start....head over to the west coast board for LOTS more advice.!

None of the downtown hotels have airport shuttles. Drivetime from airport to downtown depends on time of day. It took us about 35 minutes to get to our hotel, about 25-30 minutes to get from the hotel back to the airport.

RCCL will be using Pier 91 starting this year. Pier 91 is located north of downtown in the Magnolia area of Seattle. For reference last year RCCL used Terminal 30 which is south of downtown and it took us about 10-15 minutes to get there - locals report that even though distance wise Pier 91 is a similiar distance, it is harder to get to Pier 91 so plan some extra time. There are some hotels that offer shuttles (either free or pay) to the pier.

Definitely visit the West Coast Departures board as there are some extremely helpful locals giving advice there.
