Family Member needs to leave cruise early?

I would suggest he just book one 7 day cruise, with the rest of you doing back to back, 2 7 day cruises. IF you take a 14 day cruise, at this time only available on Princess, there are NO refunds for unused days.

While flying home from almost any Alaska port could be arranged, being allowed to disembark the ship can be a very tricky proposition, depending on circumstances of your cruise. For example, if your ship leaves from Seattle, it will be impossible for him to disembark at any other US port due to an esoteric law called the Passenger Service Act. There is a very large fine if the cruise line permits it. Because this law is so strict, many cruise lines refuse to allow early disembarkation at all.

You need to check into this VERY carefully with your Travel Agent and make sure you have written permission from the cruise line in advance. It may be possible, it may not.

The suggestion to book back to back 7 day cruises is a good one.
