BigDfromTN Posted April 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2009 We just got a confirmation of a refund of $200.00 per cabin on our June group cruise.:D As I understand this is rather unusual with a group but was the right thing to do since we were booked since last October. AND the way the website pricing has been going down here lately.;) I know this is not the largest but it is a nice refund. If you have been checking yours, how much credit have you gotten?

smiles998 Posted April 17, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2009 Can you get money back if you booked through a TA? Our cruise is now paid in full.
BigDfromTN Posted April 17, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted April 17, 2009 Can you get money back if you booked through a TA? Our cruise is now paid in full. Depending on how you booked and what rates. Normally yes. It may come in the form of On Board Credit. Which is what I would have been happy with. They chose to credit our credit cards instead. Maybe because it was a group cruise. I really feel like the person handling this went to bat for us. Normally as I understand.... that dont happen for small groups?? Call your TA and ask for it. If you dont ask they will not do it as that cuts their commission. Besides the worst they can do is say no.

steve4040 Posted April 18, 2009 #15 Share Posted April 18, 2009 This was a surprise. I was planning to pay the remaining $191 today, and called the TA. I asked about a price drop based on the advice here. I had not been very aggressive about this since I was upgraded from 8C to 8G on the Destiny back in September or October. The guy came back and said that I had made my final payment. I thought WTH!! I was sure there was an error. I asked him to send a confirming Email, and then logged onto Carnival to see if I could get Edocs. I could. I walked around work with a big ass smile all day. Mrs.C05 Posted April 18, 2009 #16 Share Posted April 18, 2009 How do I go about getting a refund? My husband booked ours back in February 2009 for the next one in February 2010. I have looked on Carnvial's website and see that the prices have gone down but our Category is gone. Does that mean I'm outta luck?
poobears Posted April 18, 2009 #17 Share Posted April 18, 2009 If your category is gone then it's booked up at the moment so you can't get a discount. It will probably open back up. Watch categories above yours too and you can upgrade if they drop. I never heard back on our last ES OBC form I submitted for $40 OBC. Submitted another and again nothing. Now the rate is $30 higher. I know I submitted the right form and qualify for the rate. I've done it before and got my OBC within 48 hours. Not sure what's going on this time. Ken076 Posted April 18, 2009 #18 Share Posted April 18, 2009 Can you get money back if you booked through a TA? Our cruise is now paid in full. If you booked an Early Saver booking you can get price drops up to 2 days before sailing. If you're booked other bookings like fun Select, Past Guest, etc., then you can only get price drops uo to the Final Payment Deadline, which it sounds like you're past and therefore no longer eligible for price drops. ken
Mitchie4 Posted April 18, 2009 #19 Share Posted April 18, 2009 Poobears...Have you looked at your booking to see if they adjusted your rates and just didn't notify you? I have submitted the form for several diff. price drops. Always received an email confirming within 48 hrs until the last one I submitted. I waited 4 days, re-submitted, waited 4 more days and finally called. The person I spoke to said it had been approved and that they tried to fax the confirmation. Somehow the system had my home phone listed as a fax number. I checked my rate after the phone call and it had been adjusted. Also, the person I spoke with said that if the rate wasn't adjusted and I did not receive a response as to why, they could put in a request to have customer resolutions dept. call me. Maybe I'll call the 800 # and see what they say, thanks
