gacruzr Posted April 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2004 My sister, a first time "X" cruiser, recently asked if gratuities on "X" were added to your shipboard account. Since I seem to have an advancing case of CRS (Can't Remember Sxxx) I don't know the answer. I've done multiple advanced searches on the board and guess what????? "no topics can be found" on "gratuities" on "X" in the last year. So, can anyone answer my sister's question?? davidb01 Posted April 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2004 You can charge the tips to your shipboard account or they will provide envelopes for cash tipping if you like. catmand Posted April 8, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Just as David wrote and no worries about CRS on the cruise, you will be reminded about the tipping several times by way of little notes and mentiones in the daily (not that there is anything wrong with that)...we took cash and used the envelopes which are delivered to your cabin. Our kids put thier's on the account and were given vouchers to put in the envelopes to give to the crew. LMKohler Posted April 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2004 We have always taken cash in the past. Our last cruise on Summit, we decided to try putting the gratuities on our account and it worked out very well. You can add "extra" tips as well (which we did for the first time since our waiter was so outstanding). All in all it worked out well -- it's your choice. gacruzr Posted April 9, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 9, 2004 Thanks for the responses. That is the way I thought I remembered it. But, these days, it's hard to be "sure" about any memory.
