EOS Suite Perks Question

I know one of the suite perks is being able to bring your lunch or breakfast into Portofinos to eat, but does this apply to embarkation or disembarkation day? Those seem like the craziest days in the windjammer, so it would be really nice to escape the crowds then.

 

Also, have any of the furnishings or electronics been updated in the grand suites on Explorer? They list is as being done by 2010 in the press release, but I was wondering how soon they'd actually do it.
