kelz66 Posted February 1, 2010 #1276 Share Posted February 1, 2010 The Onyx Room, the cigar bar, was never very busy on my January cruise. They alternated between a piano player and a singing duo for a couple of hours each evening. Other times, there was recorded music playing. Most nights by the casino there was either a country music singer or the leader of the orchestra playing solo. There was also someone playing in the piano bar each evening. Mike Thanks...what a shame....the cigar lounge on the Splendor was packed with people dancing every night to the latin band.
irky416 Posted February 2, 2010 #1277 Share Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) The Victory doesn't have the whirlpool in the spa, but do they at least have the nice big showers in there (the spa) with the shower heads all around? (Obviously, I have a soft spot for the Legend in my heart!) Edited February 2, 2010 by irky416
ktm62 Posted February 2, 2010 #1278 Share Posted February 2, 2010 I haven't heard anything about them removing the outdoor movie screen on the Victory. Why would they do that? Can anyone who has recently sailed her fill us in. Thanks no, not the movie screen, the hot tub from the spa :)
hawks066 Posted February 4, 2010 #1279 Share Posted February 4, 2010 I have cruised before but cannot remember the answer to my own question, lol. So here goes... My wife and I and another couple are going on a cruise together again. We obviously would like to sit together at dinner. How do we go about this? We both have booked late dining. I think I remember going to the maitre d right when we got on the boat and he took care of it, but I can't remember for sure. It would be nice to book it together in advance. Thanks Jesse

Thanks Jesse You would need your two Carnival confirmation numbers linked together. My TA does this for us. Can always hopefully try thru Carnival and if all else fails the Maitre'd at embarkation. Rare Buffettfan 225 Posted February 4, 2010 #1282 Share Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Never too early to count down for a cruise. Usually I'd say under 365 days! I think it is 150 for our cruise -nice number to start from... Edited February 4, 2010 by buffetfan added
aggieastrosfan Posted February 4, 2010 #1283 Share Posted February 4, 2010 We had cabin #6459 and loved it (extra long balcony, aft), but we were on the wrong side of the ship. The even numbered cabins are the way to go on this trip. Fortunetly our friends had the cabin next to us #6461, an aft wrap, so we opened up our balcony divider and were able to enjoy the great aft views. Got any pics? We have 6461, and my in-laws have 6459. We're planning on opening up the divider, can't wait!

I thought I was the micro detailed person figuring out what side of ship was best for each cruise! So far so good. I booked even side for Victory. Can you elaborate on views from each port for even side?
klepton Posted February 5, 2010 #1285 Share Posted February 5, 2010 I noticed someone said the tv screen replaced most poolside entertainment. I was wondering if they had a reggae band poolside at all. I've only cruised once before, but one of my favorite activities was sitting poolside at sailaway listening to the live reggae band. Can anyone who's been on recently provide some insight? Thanks!

I booked even side for Victory. Can you elaborate on views from each port for even side? victory room 7272 view @ st thomas dominica barbados, unfortunately, you'll be looking at the container yard. thats cool if you like seeing containers loaded onto trucks. the other side, they're looking out to sea. st lucia could be either way. depends if the ships pulls straight up to the pier or turns around first and " parallel parks ". both ways are good. st kitts. both side views are good here but i like this view. the sun will set in your face tho. st maarten. again, the sum will set in your face. best sail away side is the starboard side. victory will cruise around the island and starboard side has great views of the french side and simpson bay. ps i even look at the phases of the moon before i cruise. bigger moon, more light at night. i love cruising under a full moon. setra Posted February 7, 2010 #1297 Share Posted February 7, 2010 Hi, Has anyone done the Fan-ta-sea Catermeran cruise in St Kitts through Carnvial? Not sure what to do here and this looks good but is expensive, don't mind paying if it's ok? Any comments appreciated as we leave in a couple of days?? Thanks
lovetogolfgirl45 Posted February 7, 2010 #1298 Share Posted February 7, 2010 I have an inside cabin...does anyone have a picture they can post of one?? We were on the Jan 17 sailing of the Victory. Here are pictures of the inside cabin. They do not do the room justice, I took them as we were getting ready to leave. We were very happy with the inside cabin, plenty of room for us. Weddingcrasher Posted February 8, 2010 #1299 Share Posted February 8, 2010 Hi, Has anyone done the Fan-ta-sea Catermeran cruise in St Kitts through Carnvial? Not sure what to do here and this looks good but is expensive, don't mind paying if it's ok? Any comments appreciated as we leave in a couple of days?? Thanks I had read somewhere that this is possibly done through Blue Water, but not sure if this is misinformation. We booked with them independently for an upcoming cruise. blyle Posted February 8, 2010 #1300 Share Posted February 8, 2010 We have done the exact excursion on other lines. Basically you cruise on the Cat, stop and snorkel then eat lunch and have time at the beach. This used to be a great excursion because you sailed to Nevis and had lunch there. Since the hurricane damaged Nevis this excursion was changed to just going to the St Kitts Beach where the Pig is and last year it was not that great nor worth the money. We are doing it in March and I called to see where they were going. RCCL is going back to Nevis and we're excited. If I was only going to the Beach on St. Kitts I would not do it again. Just check and see exactly where you are going.
