papergypsy Posted May 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2009 My daughter is curious about the gym facilities onboard, and has asked that I try to find out the following: What types of equipment would she find there? Is there a fee to use the equipment? I have already told her that I read about classes and that the classes have fees. What hours would the gym be open? Does she need to reserve a time to go in? Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide.....
cardbucfan Posted May 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2009 There is a decent size gym on the Zuiderdam with treadmills, 2 (?) ellipticals, a couple of stairmasters and some bikes. There are weight machines as well as free weights. There is no charge to use the gym or the equipment. There are definitely busy times when you are limited to the amount of time you can be on a cardio machine so plan around that because it can get ugly! There are classes that have fees and I generally avoid them. I did the cycling class on our last cruise and didn't really like it (and I'm a spinning addict). If she's a runner or heavy walker, the promenade is a great place for that rather than being in the gym. Hope this helps.
