Another Cruise Addict Posted December 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2004 My wife and I don't have any kids but these ones seemed to be having fun on the Majesty back in March: http://charlotte.homeip.net/cmr/2004-03-27/MOV00063.MPG ;)

DavidO Posted December 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2004 We were on the NCL Sea with our two kids ages 5 and 7 over Thanksgiving week and were disappointed with the Kids Crew childrens program on that ship. Our kids have been on Princess and Celebrity and the kids programs were much better on those lines. The NCL Sea program was unorgainized, not as good acitvities, too much tv watching, and just was not as appealing for the kids. The kids liked it but we could tell they did not like it as much as the other lines and were not begging us to take them back as much like they had in the past. Just our recent experience and on a different ship so maybe yours will be different. There is no such thing as a bad cruise so you'll have fun still. KRobbins Posted December 8, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted December 8, 2004 Thanks... i think we'll be sure to bring some of their own activities... fortunately both boys are outgoing and easy going.
F5Loar Posted December 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 8, 2004 There are 2 factors that can make or break a good kids program and it's not the ship itself. The counslers and the kids themselves. You can't pick and choose those 2 things before you go. Counslers are moved around from ship to ship and what is good on one ship one week may be different the week you go. And then it's those "other" kids the week you go. You can have a dozen little angels and one bad apple will spoil the group. These ship programs do vary but all in all they try to do the best they can in working with total strangers in getting them to get along and play together. Sometimes it works great, others may be disaster. It would be a good idea to have a back up plan in case your week is one of the not so good kid weeks. basketballmom Posted December 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 8, 2004 Your 7 yo will have fun but the 16 yo might be bored. Our 12 yo DD was bored back in August. She did attend some of the Kids Crew programs and she made some friends in them. They went off and did their own thing and had a blast.
