laurelhollow Posted May 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2009 Any comments on whether the excursion on the boat is better than seeing the shows in Cairo itself? Not sure if we want to be sailing rather than have the option of leaving when we want. Holly
sillysailor 1955 Posted May 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2009 We did a Nile Cruise as part of a shore excursion to the pyramids on the NCL Jade last December. It was about a 1 hour cruise with a lunch and a belly dancer. Honestly, I would rather have spent more time at the pyramids.:(
laurelhollow Posted May 12, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted May 12, 2009 Thanks - this is kinda what I was worried about. I assume whatever food there is is going to be on the boat will be 'tourist inedible.' For whatever reason, I think that any comestibles at the major hotels would be better. I'll be speaking with my TA again. We did a Nile Cruise as part of a shore excursion to the pyramids on the NCL Jade last December. It was about a 1 hour cruise with a lunch and a belly dancer. SteveS Posted May 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2009 Last summer we toured with Nile Blue. After the museum we checked into our hotel then went to the Pyramid light and sound show and then went on a dinner cruise. The food was okay, the singer, band and belly dancer entertaining and the whirlling and dervishes very good. But the best was watching the locals. We were the only Americans on the boat.
