CRUZFINDER Posted May 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2009 Any feedback on the following Miami hotels would be appreciated. Sailing on the Liberty in August and need a clean, inexpensive place to stay the night before. We are on a budget and the following hotels all come in at $100 or less for the night. Plus all offer both free airport transportation and free shuttles to POM. Runway Inn on East Dr. Red Roof Inn on NW Lejeune Rd Days Inn Miami Airport North Holiday Inn Miami International Holiday Inn Express Doral Any first hand experiences, positives and negatives, would be appreciated. Thanx!
martinchem Posted May 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2009 We've stayed at the Red Roof a couple times. It is ok, free shuttle to port saves taxi fare, but last time we were there they had a lot of guests to go to the port and we were on their third shuttle leaving in the afternoon and getting to the port later than I cared to get there,(about 2) so we took a cab about 11AM. Shared cab wasn't but $15 for us (2 people) with tip.

Thanx! I suggest you make sure that the shuttle to the port of miami is free, most have a charge of $10 a person, The airport shuttle is usually always free though. 1 Hotel that gets good reviews is the LaQuinta Airport east and yes they do offer a free port of miami shuttle to the port, but you must comeback to the airport or hotel at your cost. Another under $100 hotel which is very nice and recently remodeled is the Springhill Suites, I personally stayed here in April the night before our cruise. Cost to the port on shuttle $10 each or take a taxi for $30 if more then 2 and pick your time to go yourself. Most shuttles leave hotels at 11 am earliest and last shuttle at 1 pm usually.
