JRock59 Posted June 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2009 In November we'll be in Freeport on the Conquest with 5 or 6 couples. Looking for suggestions of fun things to do. Yes we love the beach, we enjoy a drink or two. :) We'll be in Key West doing a lot of walking the day before and Nassua doing the Aquaventure the next day. So we're looking for low key, relaxed and simple. Any suggestions? THANK YOU! :D

MrPete Posted June 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2009 Jump in a cab, and head over to China Beach on Our Lucaya by the Sheraton. Check out the Bahamas boards for some other suggestions. Just make sure you get AWAY from the ship's docking area.

gottago2mexico Posted June 8, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2009 We've done the dolphin encounter, but not the full swim. For reviews on the jeep tour, just do a search on the forum - there are many many posts on this excursion.

bobsfamily Posted June 9, 2009 #12 Share Posted June 9, 2009 When you get off the ship there is a "seamans" bar (yes that's the name..lol) at the port along with more and more shops.... get a few drinks, buy a t-shirt/trinket and wander back onboard for a relaxing day without everyone around you. txlady753 Posted June 25, 2009 #15 Share Posted June 25, 2009 Just got back from Freeport 6/17/09 with Cpt Tony http://sanddollarcruise.com/ and loved it. We did it as a family of adults and we all enjoyed from weak swimmers to strong snorkelers. Everyone on the catamaran found a few sand dollars. Definitely a deal at $45 pp compared to others I have done.
lupee13 Posted June 25, 2009 #16 Share Posted June 25, 2009 I'm a huge fan of paradise cove for snorkelling. It's a secluded beach that you can snorkel off of. http://www.bahamasvacationguide.com/pcove.html

lupee13 Posted June 26, 2009 #18 Share Posted June 26, 2009 Not the same as going offshore. true but it is probably the best snorkelling right off shore that you will ever get and being off shore is better imo since you get to choose what you want to do
rwscruiser Posted June 26, 2009 #19 Share Posted June 26, 2009 My husband and I are going to go on the Glass Bottom Boat in Freeport. I'll let you know how it is when we return. We sail in 20 days.
rednose83 Posted June 26, 2009 #20 Share Posted June 26, 2009 My husband and I are going to go on the Glass Bottom Boat in Freeport. I'll let you know how it is when we return. We sail in 20 days. We did the GBB in March 08 in Freeport. It was very pretty but the seas were rockin! Also, a boat like 60 yards from us was chumming the waters for sharks so we saw a lot of Caribbean Reef Sharks. The only thing I didn't like was that our boat kept smashing into the coral reefs because the water was so rocking. I would have preferred to leave rather than destroy the reefs. dmd Posted June 28, 2009 #21 Share Posted June 28, 2009 I was wondering how far and approximate cost to paradise cove from the port? Can you go there just to use the beach without a package?
lupee13 Posted June 28, 2009 #22 Share Posted June 28, 2009 i'm sure you can, I would just email them and ask. It takes approx 20 to 30 minutes to get there.

sallyb Posted July 4, 2009 #24 Share Posted July 4, 2009 Carnival doesn't list a horse back riding excursion for the Pride, are you doing this independently, or another cruise line/ ship? Freeport is a short stop.
njfamilyoffour Posted July 5, 2009 #25 Share Posted July 5, 2009 We were in Freeport on July 2 and sailed with Captain Tony on Sand Dollar cruise. Terrific experience. A shuttle was waiting at the dock and drove us and a few other families to Port Lucaya. Fun time snorkeling and finding sand dollars. One of the highlights of our cruise!
