cleob Posted June 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2009 DH and I will be returning to St. Thomas for the 4th time in March. It hasn't been our favorite island but we want to keep trying to find interesting things to do. We've been to Megan's Bay and Coral World. We've taken the tram up to Paradise Point. We've done shopping near where the ship docks (not really shopping fans) and on one trip we took the ferry over to St. John and went to Trunk Bay (this we loved). Anything that we're missing and folks consider a must see?
Ms411 Posted June 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2009 If you loved Trunk Bay, then you might want to consider taking the ferry over to Water Island for a visit to Honeymoon Beach. It's much quicker to get to than St John, and the beach is quiet, usually uncrowded, and beautiful (though not as beautiful as Trunk Bay!). There may not be food/drinks however, so you'd need to stop at Gourmet Gallery near the ferry dock for snacks.
The Islander Posted June 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2009 If you like history and historic homes you could do Bluebeards Castle on St. Thomas. If you like hiking you could head over to St. John and perhaps hike the Lind Point Trail which starts right in Cruz Bay... or one of the other trails. Maybe Cinnamon Bay (on St. John) which has nice beach, snorkeling, and accross the street is a sugar plantation ruin with self guided walking trail. You could do a day sail or some other watersports - fishing, diving, snorkeling, parasailing on St. Thomas. --Islander
lynncarol Posted June 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2009 I second that feedback about Water Island. If you like nice beaches without the crowds, this is the place to go. There has been discussions before on cruisecritic concerning Water Island. Check them out.
okgladmom Posted June 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2009 Have you ever tried the Eco tour? It was amazing!! You can book it thru the ship and it is a little cheaper than the website since there's no taxi charge. It was fun for us because it combined three things into one tour. I'd highly recommend it! It's great for families too.
