C 2 C Posted June 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2009 I just received an email concerning developments on two ships: Solstice and Constellation. Perhaps others returning from recent cruises can confirm this. ...who have just come back from a cruise on the Solstice! Apparently Michael's Club there is now for the exclusive use of Elite and select Captain's club members with breakfast being served there plus a club for that group in the evenings!!! .... I do know that Michael's club on the Connie is reserved for Ellite and select CC members from 4-6 but what else is new I am not sure! This is a very interesting development and after posting a poll yesterday, I wonder how quickly Select and Elite Captain's Club members will fill the room to capacity. Just as RCI reduced access to a lounge to Diamond Plus Members (25+ cruises) on many ships, Celebrity is introducing this at a very low threshold. CruisingChick Posted June 17, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Hi Andy, Do you think they might have these new perks in place by my October 16th cruise on Constellation? Anne Maria
Loracpin2 Posted June 17, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2009 If this is true, I think it's a great. Our Elite status has given us Daimond reciprosity on RCI and we have really enjoyed the use of their Concierge Lounge. Of course, that benefit is going away on Sept.1 on RCI, but since we have 3 Celebrity cruises booked in the next 16 months, I hope it will be in effect on X. When did this happen???????????????? What happens between 4-6? Thanks. Anne Maria On facebook someone on board Constellation mentioned that there were several changes.. including a "new Michael's Club". Then another contact emailed me the opening quote. This is recent! I just called Captain's Club... they have no information (you heard it here first) .. but as Andy stated, stay tuned. Perhaps, tests are underway... :D

I'm guessing at the convention to be held at the end of the month: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=999636 Later on this month travel agents specialising in selling cruises and people from the cruise lines will be converging in Dover for a two-day convention looking at the industry. ... will feature guest speakers including ....president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises, Dan Hanrahan. As part of their opening speech they will be looking at changes that have affected the cruise industry over the last 12 months, and what changes are coming up in the next year. florisdekort Posted June 17, 2009 #12 Share Posted June 17, 2009 I am currently on Millennium and Michael's Club serves as a lounge for Elite Guests, and guests booked in suites. Hours are 4 pm to 6 pm only. All drinks are free. During the evenings, Michael's Club is what it used to be. One other nice new touch: $50 worth of free Internet. Lie-in King Posted June 17, 2009 #13 Share Posted June 17, 2009 I was on the Solstice last week and Michael's club is still open to all. It was our favourite lounge where the excellent Tim Kruze plays the piano and sings every night.
