do we need formal attire on the Lirica nothern europe cruise, we are going on the 14/08/09

Hi lemmy - welcome to the boards.

If that is the 11 night sailing then yes you will. there will be 3 formal nights. Officially formal attire is tuxedo or lounge suit for men and evening gown, cocktail dress or evening trouser suit for ladies. However whilst many will wear one of those, some do not and they don't strictly enforce it. So you will see men with no jacket or ladies with a skirt and nice top. You'll also see a few turn up looking like they misread the programme and thought it was casual night. The only exception to the policy is that if you want your photo taken with the captain at the welcome gala, you will need to be adhereing to the dress code.

If you have any questions about the Lirica, please let me know. I've sailed on her twice and should be able to help you
