EVEN HENRY? Whose Henry? Is he such a poor player that if EVEN HE agrees, it must be right? Can Xmillion Frenchmen be wrong?

Too many questions for me..... need another drink.:p

Looks like this guy has found a new home here in this section!

Welcome! And keep pouring them drinks! :D

Never been there Yo. That is a ship anchored just outside state waters. I thought they had had some problems and had shut down. But I guess they are still operating.

I can tell you for sure that the Seminoles give you nothing for free. With no competition they don't have to.

Nevertheless,I am amazed at the crowds at the casino all day every day.

The Injuns are making a fortune!

Well one thing is for certain, their website is up and running. Maybe give them a call to see if they are running and check them out.

Where do you play blackjack then?

So blackjack is your game then? No shooting craps though?

I have to agree with YO ELEVEN, people who do not know how to play the game can ruin it for every one, I have too many memories of players spliting 5's against a 10, or hitting a 16 against a 6, and the outcome changed the whole composure of the shoe and the flow of the table.

I try to sit at 3rd base to minimize their effect on a cruise ship. However, I found a game that is better than craps that eliminate the effects of stuppid players, unfortunatly it is not played on cruise ships.

The game is baccarat, it is the only game in the casino in which a players decisions or lack of as well as the dealers actions does not effect the out come of the game.

Happy gaming

Kal

Hey Kal..I posted earlier that we only remember when some dumbazz does something stupid and screws up the table.

But there are just as many times when someone does something stupid and helps the table.

Next time you play pay attention and I think you will be surprised.:D:D

Cheers and Happy 4th.

Gosh is there anything that gets you mad at the table? I don't think there is. Maybe if someone throws a drink in your face for not splitting eights? Haha

Gosh o Gosh Yo....Why do I need to get mad at the table. I am there to relax and perhaps win a little bit of money.

I have enough stress Mon thru Fri. I play my game and don't let some dumbazz's silly playing raise my blood pressure. Hey it is me against the dealer period. If I do something stupid, then I get mad.

Note to self.....

Reason-elevated blood pressure from playing at his table.

I lke to play BJ but am not very good. I try always to sit to the right of the dealer(facing him) so that I get the last card and do not HURT the smart players.

He seeship! That is high class that you are trying to not hurt the "smart players." But how do you know if you are NOT good? This means if you know you are not good then you should know what being "good" is about? What is wrong with your playing then?

Just back from the casino and the crazies were out in force. Not one or two to a table but three and four. Even I had to move twice which I don't normally do. Yo they would probably taken you out in a straight jacket!

Finally found a table with only one dumbazz and I held my own.

Oh well had a relaxing afternoon anyway.

Cheers

What did they do??

Let's see...Standing on soft 16 vs a 10....splitting 5's...splitting 10's....hitting hard 17 vs. a 6....and actually doubling down on a 12!!!! And there were many others.

As I said I can usually handle one at the table because I don't think that really effects my results.

This was different...it was like dodging incoming scud missiles..

Don't be daft. None of their play effects you. Ignore others and focus on your hand. Most of those guys probably had a better time and won something!

I have been reading this thread with amusement. RANTHEMAN, I was sworn to secrecy by YO, but I cant hold it in....those crazies at your table were YO's best friends that he planted there as a test to see how well you could hold up to your "doesn't matter how they play" principles. YO is probably paying them off right now.

The cruise ships had great blackjack until 2 years ago. Now all the BJ tables have no surrender, all hit soft 17's, etc.

I always made more than enough to pay for the crusie and sometimes air.

Iam with ya Yo 11. Craps for me only on the Boat!

To me the toughest decision in blackjack is having a twelve against the dealer's 2. I hit (the book says to, right?), and many times get dirty looks from other players. Of course, these are the same players that stand on 16 when dealer has a 10.

What do you guys do?

If the book says "hit". I HIT!

I don't pay any attention to any dirty looks - or snide comments for that matter - from any other players at the table. When the peanut gallery will be giving me money to play, then their advice means something. Until then, it's just background noise.

Which reminds me of an incident that happened over 15 years ago. Although I was not personally involved, it shows what can happen when casino staff is not in control completely. There are no casinos here in Israel. The closest one is in Taba, at our southern border with Egypt, next to Eilat. At the time (before intifada), it was common to drive over the border for a day or overnight, and play at the small casino. The casino was cvery crowded and as is usual in that case, many players had someone betting "along with them." At one point, the player in the seat next to mine indicated he wanted a hit, and the person playing along shouted "NO!!!!!"

It's always been my understanding that the player sitting makes all decisions, and if the other one doesn't like it, he is free to go play behind someone else. In this case, an argument broke out. What should have happened is that the dealer should have politely said that the sitter has the choice, given the hit, and gone on. However, these dealers were not very professional... and he looked at the players and said "What do you want to do?" which kept the argument going for a number of minutes.

To laugh or to cry? I was a lirrle annoyed, but in looking back it was pertty funny.

PS - abdolutely hit 12 against a deuce!
