they have PENNY slots ??? are you serious ???? what do you win --$3.50 ? LOL!!!

Yes they do exist. And you can still win a big jackpot on them if you are betting the maximum per pull. There is a penny slot Cleopatra machine around here where you cab bet the maximum of 4 dollars a pull for a $2500 jackpot if you get five Cleopatras. But yeah if you bet a penny

you end up with chump change. LOL

Has anyone tried the pokerpro machine? If I am reading it right, do you actually play against other players, but the cards are electronic?

Are there only tournaments, or are there also cash games? If there are cash games, what are the blinds?

Thanks guys.

Not being a big gambler, I can still sit for hours at a penny slot and somtimes it pays off. I've won $450.00 on a $20 investment and $772.00 on a $20 investment. (2 different ships about 4-5 yrs apart). It's all a matter of 1)The right number of lines 2) The right number of pennies per line and 3)Luck.

Has anyone ever participated in the slot tournament on any Carnival ships?

I haven't, but am wanting to on my cruise in November.

What are the requirements, what is the process, etc???

Thanks!

Hi cruisingtaylors,

I have done the slot tournament on Carnival before. I recall paying a $20 entry fee to play. They have a bank of machines set for tourney play and you simply hit the spin button to rack up as many points as possible. The winner of each round moves on the final round of play. The only requirements that I know of is that you pay the fee and hit the button.

Enjoy and Good Luck!

Cool site, I noticed under the table games it had "wheel of madness". What the heck is that?

It is regular Black Jack. There is a side bet for a dollar. If you put up a dollar and on that hand you get a black jack you get to spin a eletrictronic (spell) wheel. They have a $1000 spot on the wheel to entice you But in all the cruises I have played it has never hit. I have asked many dealers if they have ever seen it hit and not one has ever seen it hit.

Most of the payoffs are between $11 and $50,

Its a huge house payoff and really no chance of hitting anything big.

By the way the Minimum bet is now $6 You don't have to bet the wheel but you must bet $6

They also have a new side bet on blackjack black jack Its a $1 to $25 side bet. Your first 2 cards must equal 20 and you get 4 to 1---------------A&9 or k&Q

2 suited cards making 20 you get 9 to 1------------------A of Club & 9 of club

2 suited alike cards making 20 you get 19 to 1------------K of clubs & K of clubs

and if you get 2 queen of hearts you get 125 to 1

I got 2 queen of hearts with $5 and won $ 625.

Its still a bad bet though.

Here is a little story on our last cruise a few weeks ago. I was playing blackjack next to a really drunk dude. We were playing at the wheel of madness table. he was playing $200 a hand. (max bet at that table)

all of the sudden he put $25 dollar's in the side bet. The dealer said do you want change and he said no its a bet. I'll be dam if he didn't get a blackjack. he spun the wheel and it came up 30. 30 X $25 = $750. Well when it came time to pay the pit boss said no, it only a $ 1 bet and it pays $30

The guy said show me where it says $1 (there was no sign) The dealer took the bet. I had to agree with the guy. I said if he would have lost she would have taken the $25.

All in all they never paid the bet after many pit boss's where involved. I think that stunk.

Later that night there was a new paper sign hanging under the Wheel of madness (Max bet $1)

I tried it last week on the Carnival Conquest. There are 10 chairs for live people, no chips, no cards. It's all electronic and not that bad if you are used to playing online.

They have tournaments and cash games too; check the daily Caper for times. On the Conquest it was a $50 min buy in with $1/$2 blinds.

Are you kidding me? I would have made one heck of a stink if they cheated me out of that money. Absolutely, if the guy had not gotten blackjack, they would have taken that money. If they really had that rule, the dealer should not have allowed the bet. The dealer even ASKED the guy about it...it's not like he didn't notice. I cruised last week and the ONE guy I saw win all week was being looked at by the pit boss like he was a criminal. Your story that you relayed has convinced me to avoid casinos on cruises. Which cruise line were you on?

Quite a bit if you are lucky. I hit $600.00 on one and $1,000.00 on another. As a matter of fact, my biggest wins have been on penny machines, although you can hardly call them penny machines if you are betting the max. Just another way to have fun.

Just to echo that, I used to laugh at my wife playing the penny slots, to keep her happy a couple of months ago I sat beside her, stuck $20 in a machine and pressed the button, 20 minutes later I cashed out with enough to pay for our upcoming cruise on HAL, in a suite and flights from here to MIA, it's all down to being in the right place at the right time, but you can make money on them :D
