SailBadtheSinner Posted June 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2009 After viewing numerous menus, but not all, these are some of the restaurants that offer conch fritters. If ease of getting to the restaurant is the priority, then Beethoven's Restaurant is the only choice, but if you are looking for the local favorites, then select either the White Horse Pub or the Swizzle Inn. Beethoven's Restaurant, located in the Clocktower Mall in the Royal Naval Dockyard http://www.bermuda.com/beethovens/index.php Lobster Pot Restaurant and Boathouse Bar, Hamilton http://www.bermuda.com/lobsterpot/ The White Horse Pub & Restaurant, St. George. On the waterfront; just about a 40 minute ferry ride away. You would be looking at the WHP as your ferry arrives from the Dockyard. http://www.whitehorsebermuda.com/ Swizzle Inn, 2 locations, original, on Bailey’s Bay, North Shore Road; new, on the South Shore. http://www.swizzleinn.com/ St George’s Club, Blackbeard’s Hideout restaurant Blackbeard’s Hideout is located at St. George’s Club’s beach at Achilles Bay. The St. George’s Club is a premier Vacation Ownership Resort (which I think is a fancy name for a timeshare, not that there is anything wrong with that). SBtS Thanks so much! :) I am hoping to get to Swizzle Inn on South Shore Road, I'm just not sure how close to Horseshoe Bay it is and how much time I have. I thought if I could find a good place near the ship it would work out best for me! Thanks again!

Coli Posted July 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 3, 2009 Is there a good place at the dockyard to get conch fritters? I checked the Frog n Onion menu, no fritters on it... Freeport Gardens, at the entrance to the Dockyard is the place to go for Conch Fritters - they have good local dishes. You will find their website if you google 'Freeport Gardens, Bermuda' - the menus are online. No need to travel to the ends of the island in search of fritters. :D Only if you want to! That's what I was hoping for, a place at the dockyard. I didnt really want to be running around all over the place. Someone else told me the Swizzle Inn is 10 miles east of Horseshoe, in the opposite direction of the dockyard, so not as close as I had hoped. Between Freeport Gardens and Beethoven's looks like I will find fritters at the dockyard after all! I will check out Freeport Gardens now....THANKS!!! :)

MarkW-FL Posted July 4, 2009 #10 Share Posted July 4, 2009 How far is the Swizzle Inn (either one, whichever is closest) from St. George's? Thanks.
SailBadtheSinner Posted July 4, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 4, 2009 the Swizzle Inn on North Shore Road is closest to St George. Take a #10 or # 11 bus inbound from St George to get there. It is a short ride; maybe 5 miles. SBtS
