acestacy Posted July 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2009 My DD and I are flying out of MCI early AM Aug 9th--we will stay in hotel near airport the night before. Any recommendations, or more specifically, areas (neighborhoods) to avoid? Thanks in advance for any help...
MikeMiller Posted July 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2009 The airport is miles out from the actual city, so you actually won't be near any "neighborhoods." The only places nearby are a few hotels.
Cadi Posted July 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2009 We too fly out of MCI..We always stay at the Hampton Inn....It is a mile and a half from airport.....They have shuttle to and from airport and parking for the length of time you are away...Just tell them what timed you need shuttle when you check in.....Call them from airport house phone when you return and the shuttle will pick you up...No charge for parking...Go to www.hamptoninn.com If you want to go out to eat there re several places just down 29...Its about 2 miles...Cracker Barrel,Applebee's, Red Lobster...May be some others too but we always go to Cracker Barrel...Can't ever go wrong with them... Hope this helps you out......:) Cadi
Terrafreaky Posted July 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2009 We used priceline last time to book a stay (for a 6 am flight the next morning) If you're not looking for Park & Fly I think this is a good idea. I believe we paid around $45 for the airport Hilton. They had lots of restaurants within the hotel.
janabm81 Posted July 17, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 17, 2009 We've always enjoyed the Embassy Suites. It's really great because you get free hot breakfast in the morning (if your flight isn't too early):)
