dukeysmom Posted July 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2009 If a hotel concierge does something special for you, say make a dinner reservation or order a taxi, do you tip him/her? How much? Thank you, Stephanie

Thank you, Stephanie Hi there...working with the concierge industry I can tell you that if they do something nice, that is the best way to thank them is to tip them. Even if it is $2 or $3 they do appreciate it.
eandj Posted July 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2009 The only time we tip a concierge is if he/she does something extraordinary for us. Not just to call or recommend a restaurant or get a cab. (doorman do that) We were in Chicago last weekend and after we tried calling for tickets to a show last minute, were told they were sold out. When passing the concierge, I mentioned we were disappointed I hadn't ordered the tickets earlier and he made two calls and got us tickets. Yes, we tipped him. garardo Posted July 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2009 When we were on the infinity we had a great concierge. I used him for getting a reservation in the ss United States for a table of 8, for setting up a privet lunch for a group of 14 with a special server that I wanted, flowers to the wife when none were available, sending out special invites for a cocktail party on our veranda, and more stuff I can not remember. He was great. I think I tipped him $100. for all of his service. It was well worth every dime. garardo
