Roulette!!

I've been reading this thread and decided to chime in regarding people that see multiple black or red in a row and then put chips down on the other color because it's "due". Let me tell you something...it's all random! The ball has no memory or clue what the previous color was that came up.

I used to play the same numbers over and over. I also played by watching the tot board. I no longer do this and I have been doing well.

I look at the tot board and see if the upper or lower half numbers have been coming in. Then I ask someone that is playing how long the dealer has been there. If the dealer has been there for 15 to 20 rolls and the majority of the rolls are upper or lower half (not up, down) I will play.

I will bet $5 chips and box 4 boxs, alternating from left to right in the half of the board that has been hitting. You cover 16 numbers and win 8 to 1 if you win. This is not a hit and run game, it is a marathon.

I have played this way for hours and have won alot of money, but when a new dealer comes in, you have to know when to cash.

I play this on the ship every year and I do fairly well playing a certain group of numbers. 2 or 3 years ago my husband and I could not loss, we hit constantly and by the time we left the cruise ship at the end of the week we left with more than we went on with and that was after we paid our 1200 bill. It is all luck and knowing when to leave and come back later. I always say I go with x amount to blow in the casino and when it is gone I am done and I nor my husband have ever spend more than that set amount.

I had never played before until last June we went to Vegas and I played. I won every time I put chips down. A dealer at the Golden Nugget gave me some pointer and they worked. I probably could have mad more money but my husband made me cash in every time I was on a winning steak. I am going on the NCL Spirit in April and cant wait to try my luck. I am kind of leery because I normally have no luck at all. I used to be a slot person only.

I know allot of you propeller heads don't believe in betting systems but I have come up with one that works every time. If I am playing roulette and I think red is going to come on the next spin then I will place a bet on red. If it hits red then I win (yeah!). If it hits black I loose (waa!) I continue this pattern until all of my money is gone. If you are willing to play as long as it takes this system works every time.

First of all remember I had never played this before.. Mainly to put the chips on he corners - not to bet just one number. Either the inside corners or the outside to include the row. Plus I always bit either the high or low set of numbers. Once in awhile black or red. My most money was won sticking with the same corners.

That is a good way to make your money stretch and fingers crossed provide a little entertainment for your money.

I'll be on the Carnival Splendor next and will be "checking out" the roulette tables.

Does anyone think that the movement of the ship, due to rough seas, will have an effect on where the ball lands? Like giving the ball an extra bounce?

Yeah, I know this probably doesnt matter for me winning/losing, but just a curious thought.

No, but you can always use it as an excuse.

In Vegas Roulette is my game! on my last cruise it kind of ruined me though haha. Anyone know how many roulette tables the Carnival Dream has and min. bets?

Re: Run of red or black, I've spun 27 blacks in a row. No rhyme or reason to it, then smashed everyone with '0'.

Ship Roulette is a scam, Aussie casino's have mainly single '0' wheels, better odds and you can play the grand series or tier. Lower min tables have '00'.

but will bet black or red if I see that there have been many blacks or reds in a row.

What does that have to dowith the next spin:confused:?

Same person who falls for the number towers that they put up. Why do you think they are there? Because someone will try and deduce where the marble is going to fall. :)

Roulette has a high house edge (>5%). You're better off putting your money down the toilet. :)

I start each night with $20 worth of chips and play for hours on that $20, usually walking out with a few hundred at the end of the night....I do that by watching the number history board and betting accordingly. I am well aware that the wheel has no memory, but I have seen time and time again the same numbers come up numerous times over the course of the night and I take advantage of that.

It sure beats the smart*ss that walks up to the table and drops $1000 or more in one spin of the wheel and walks away empty handed. :p

Actually, the smart*ss who makes one single $1000 bet, and then stops, has a far greater chance of winning. They have a 47% chance of winnng. But sombody who makes many bets has a far less than 47% chance of coming out ahead. The 5% house edge is much to great to overcome, and all roulette players will lose if they keep playing. The odds that they can come out ahead approaches zero as a player bets more and more.

Think about it. Over a lifetime a roulette table *will* pay back only 95% of what people bet. But the reverse is also true. Over a lifetime, any single roulette player *will* also win only 95% of the money that they bet (if they make enough bets). The laws of probability and statistics are just that.

Just back from a 14 nighter with a allowance of 20 pounds per day and walked out the first night with 120 pounds :D

Won some lost some for the rest of the cruise but gained enough to buy a couple of bottles of champagne, give a 20 pound tip and have hours of fun.

I was playing 32 plus corners (boring) and was especially happy when it came up twice in a row :D:D

See although I live in the States and grew up in Australia, British by birth we must think the same........I play for the entertainment....I can make $20.00 last me hours and have a great time doing it....if I win super if I end up losing well it was $20.00 well spent for the entertainment value.....I don't look at what I had gained and then lost....I just make sure I don't lose more than the $20.00 I started with out of MY pocket.....you can have a great time with roulette......just don't get greedy.....but I have also won heaps....just not regularly...

and I do look at the towers to determine which table to play...if the numbers I like to play have been coming up on one table I will go there......now also you have to look for dealer changes...because if a dealer is paying out too much they pull them and then the luck gets sucked out of the table.......so when a new dealer comes onboard if you start losing LEAVE.....to play another day.........

Seriously? Do you really think the dealer has anything to do with where the ball will land??? It's absolute pure luck...no other way to look at it. ;)

Seriously all I know is what I have seen some 25 cruises later...and the folks around us will say the same thing.......no superstition here...just the facts as I've seen them.......I think maybe the cruise lines may be superstitious and don't like it when a dealer is giving out lots of $$$....folks get a rapour with them and maybe it gels somehow........just stating what I see......:D and I will be watching next week on Liberty....

Oh I agree 100% that any casino (including Vegas) will change a dealer if they are paying out too much. But the dealer has NOTHING to do with the numbers that come up in roulette. It's a little unfair for the casino to "blame" them, but they do anyway. :)

I'm reading about all these so-called "odds" and how it's stupid for certain bets to be made because you'd be wasting your money.....all I know is I love roulette and have played all different ways: black/red, 2 number splits, 4 number splits, columns, etc....I don't play by any particular rules set up by those people who think they know how to play the game the best....but I can tell you this---I start each night with $20 worth of chips and play for hours on that $20, usually walking out with a few hundred at the end of the night....I do that by watching the number history board and betting accordingly. I am well aware that the wheel has no memory, but I have seen time and time again the same numbers come up numerous times over the course of the night and I take advantage of that.

On the off chance that I lose my original $20, I get up and do something else for a few hours and then return.....my luck is usually better the 2nd time. I have been using this "unconventional" method for YEARS and I have to admit on most of my cruises, by the last night onboard, I have managed to pay for one of our cruise fares. Not too shabby in my opinion. It sure beats the smart*ss that walks up to the table and drops $1000 or more in one spin of the wheel and walks away empty handed.

You can quote all kinds of stats if you'd like, I'm just telling you what I have seen....and not just ONE time, but on just about every cruise I have taken, there is always at least one person who'll lay down hundreds to a thousand bucks on one spin of the wheel and they will play back all their winning in just a few spins and walk away empty-handed. I'll still be sitting there with my stack playing conservatively....and with a grin! :p I will, in turn, usually leave the cruise at the end of the week with at least one of our cruise fares in winnings.....

So, you tell me....who is the smarter player?? ;)

I do agree the dealer doesn't have anything per se to do with the spinning etc........but I think the casino thinks they do when they are getting along well with the gamblers and the numbers are coming up...coincidence...maybe.....but I still check.......and I too am waiting for our last poster to show their strategy to win each time......I need some ideas.......before Sunday.....

See above for my "strategy" if you want to call it that(it's a repost from earlier in the thread)....it's just how I've played for years and it's what feels comfortable and has worked well for me. Everyone has to develop what works well for them.....
