LiznMartin Posted August 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2009 We will be in Hilo next April and plan on doing the Circle of Fire helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian. As the tour will only take up a couple of hours, we're also thinking of doing the Cave, Lagoon and Waterfall Trek (NCL tour). This tour lasts 3.5 hrs and goes at 9 am or 1.30 pm, so I'd be looking to book the helicopter either at 10 am or 3 pm. Weatherwise, is it better to do the Circle of Fire in the morning or the afternoon, or doesn't it matter? Thanks!
West Maui Posted August 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Aloha, Heli tours are almost always best in the mornings. The weather is usually clearer, and of course, if not, one has a better chance of re-scheduling for a different time, if possible. You will love this tour! LiznMartin Posted August 11, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted August 11, 2009 That's great - decision made! Really looking forward to this trip. We have already done a helicopter tour in Kauai (and LOVED it, despite Martin being scared of flying!!), so having the chance to see the volcanoes "up close" will be thrilling. Thanks for the advice. :)
