Specialty restaurant online booking / $1 charge

I made online reservations for Chops and Portofino for 1 person,

using my debit card.

Looking at bank transactions, I have pending RCI charges of $20 and $25 which I expected, but there are also 2 charges for $1 each.

Is there a logical explanation for this?

I did not have the $1 charge when I made reservations for past cruise. :confused:

This is normal practice. That $1.00 charge comes off after a few days.

I have used the online booking service twice and I was never charged a fee for the reservation, maybe their policy is different in the eurozone?

I notice that happens alot when I purchase gas. The $1 charge I believe is a "hold" on your account until the actual transaction clears.

I've also booked Chops online for a previous cruise and never had to pay an additional dollar.
