beamteam Posted September 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2009 Thanks for the info. How did you contact the Hilton? We are going in 4 weeks so it sounds like it might not be in good shape. Thanks for your help.

Hawk15 Posted October 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2009 Bump. I'm interested in the Hilton day pass too. Is the $30 voucher enough to cover lunch and a few drinks?
Aplmac Posted October 6, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2009 A few days ago when I was taking photos at Hilton Barbados I made a point of stopping by their Front Desk, to ask about their day pass thing. Here's what she said. For US$25 you get a towel, chair, umbrella, use of the pool and beach For US$35, they throw in a lunch as well -at their beachside food place. Sounds like a good deal..no? . Mathew Parryman Posted October 6, 2009 #9 Share Posted October 6, 2009 My Wife kids and myself are looking for a nice beach to spend the day at. On reviewing the board we are down to two options Hilton or Accra. Does any one know what the taxi fare to the Hilton is? Thank you in advance for your help
Aplmac Posted October 7, 2009 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Thank you, thank you,THANK YOU!!! ===> You're very welcome! By any chance did you remember the price of the taxi???? Because I live here on da island, I use my own car! ;) I don't usually quote taxi rates since my knowledge of such things is abyssmal but I should think it'll be on the order of around US$20 each way for a carload of you guys between the Port and Hilton --just don't quote me on that, OK? The ride is more time-consuming and traffic-y as opposed to any real distance between the two. Even so it's only ten minutes -fifteen if traffic is bad. Bridgetown Port and Hilton are essentially at either extreme of Carlisle Bay. You can see Hilton from the Port -that's it out on the far point- ..and you can see the Port from Hilton's entrance even if Hilton's beach/recreational activity is on the other(South Coast) side of the hotel. A day spent at Hilton Barbados will not disappoint! :) .

Aplmac Posted October 9, 2009 #15 Share Posted October 9, 2009 Thank you so much for your information, ===> You're very welcome!- do we need to make a reservation for this? When I made my first enquiry for you guysI was told that Hilton prefers that you call ahead first to see if thay might comfortably accommodate you - but the other day (when I took the recent pics) I mentioned the call-ahead thing and asked if should cruisers still call but she said no don't bother. I should think that calling Hilton might still be the wise thing to do especially in peak tourist season (Dec. and Jan.) Hilton's PBX number here on the island is.. 426-0200 . Wife and I went to Hilton Beach for a swim at Needham's Point last weekendand there was nothing going on. No sign of construction/destruction/dredging equipment. Also.. it's hard to imagine them starting a project in mid-Oct. with the winter tourist season just 8 wks. away -unless it's a minor project? God knows, they already have acres of gorgeous beach. See for yourself! .
cleob Posted October 12, 2009 #19 Share Posted October 12, 2009 I'm confused. If the Hilton only charges $40 per person for a day pass and then gives you $30 in vouchers for food, how can they possibly make any money?

somogirl Posted October 14, 2009 #23 Share Posted October 14, 2009 I just spoke with the Hilton in Barbados and this is what I was told; $25 for a day pass for use of pool and beach $35 for a day pass would include a meal and drink at the waters edge restaurant. This is a per person charge. I was checking to see if I could use my Hilton Honor poinst for a day pass but they don't do that.

Thanks for everything!Lisa:) From one Lisa to another, I would really appreciate your reporting back on the two beaches: accra and the Hilton. Pros and cons of both, etc.? Any differences such as water calmer at one beach as compared to the other, etc., etc.. etc. I'll be anxiously awaiting your posting when you return. Have a wonderful trip and tell Barbados "We'll be seeing her in February!" Thanks - Lisa
