We will be stopping in the Azores (Ponta Delgada) in October.

Any information on this port would be appreciated. What type of transportaion to do things on your own?

There is a section at the lower end of the 'Boards' page called Ports of Call. Go there to find out about your destination and things to do, recommended tours, etc. Also, if there is a roll call for your cruise, folks there will be discussing tours and excursions, forming groups for independent tours.
